hmmmmm......... wasn't sure whether to put this under 'tabloid malarkey' or not, because technically it's not from a tabloid; it's from amy-w. So I thought I'd give it its own thread..... Could be total BS, but who knows?

Brazilian site folha.com and A Mondo Entretenimento, the agency responsible for producing international shows in the country, are reporting that Amy will be performing some shows in Brazil in January 2011. No concrete dates or places were disclosed yet, but as soon as there's more info on this matter I'll keep you posted!

Could be true. Touring on the release of her album. Not sure I'd buy tickets. I don't have any faith in her performing live and sober. Hate to say that but there it is.

edit: I'll try to be more positive.

I can see her label arranging a tour where, if she doesn't do well, they hope no one will notice. "We can start her in some jungle rubber camps, and if she can make it through a set on her feet then she can work her way up to Rio."
She must be on super double probation! But with Lucian Grainge running the show from New York now, I'm sure every possible string will be pulled to help her out. If only she can help herself!

i'm where you are phil. i think you're realistic, and hey...once burned twice shy as the saying goes. she has mucho to prove to her public and i need evidence that she's adopted a more professional attitude.
if i do decide to see her it won't be without buying ticket insurance, tell you that right now!!

1 MILLION? EACH?
Jesus Christ!

On a serious note, I hope she will perform and show her petite middle finger to all who think she can't sing anymore.

Concert of Amy Winehouse in Sao Paulo will be at Anhembi

The Amy Winehouse concerts in Brazil is already set up. The British singer performs in January on:

  • Florianopolis at Pasha, on January 8th
  • Rio de Janeiro at HSBC Arena, on January 11th
  • Recife at Centro de Convenções Pernambuco, on 13th
  • São Paulo at Arena Anhembi, on 15th
Except for the concert in Rio, Amy Winehouse arrives as the main attraction of the Summer Soul Festival, which will receive, in addition to the British star, the American singer Janelle Monáe and Mayer Hawthorne.

Janelle also splits the night with Amy in Rio, but without the name behind the festival's concerts.
Ticket sales for the concerts will start to be sold on November 22nd via livepass.com.br website, but the prices were not informed yet.

That is the first time the polemic pop star, 27 years old and two albums recorded, comes to Brazil. The tour comes a little before her third album release, scheduled for 2011. Amy received five Grammy Awards and Janelle Monáe was also nominated in 2008 with the single "Many Moons."
