Not to go off topic, but it was mentioned in a suggestions thread that you should be able to edit or delete your posts whenever. It's so much easier than contacting a mod, and will save them alot of time. Could this option please be considered?

You can edit your post within 24 hours of the post being made. After that, no. We had issues in the past where people would go back and completely clear their posting history. It screws with the statistics of the forum and it looks, to put it bluntly, crap when there are loads of empty posts lying around. I'm not directing this at your specifically but if members just THINK BEFORE they POST, then there's no need to go back and edit past posts. Why is this such an issue? Genuine question, I don't get it. If I join a forum I don't make posts that I'm going to later regret... just think before you post... it's pretty simple.

edit - v_melnik what are your thoughts on this issue? I really don't want to allow members to edit their posts any time they like, but if the 24 time limit is a bit too strict then I'm willing to expand the time limit to a day more or so... What do you think?

I agree, let's expand this limit, Wino!

By the way, is there a plugin for vBulletin which would allow mods and admins to freeze some topics/posts and deny to edit them? It would be a very useful feature in some cases!

What do you suggest we expand it to?

And I don't know about that but surely closing a thread does exactly that does it not?

We will not remove the restriction on editing, but willing to expand the time limit on which posts can be edited.
What do you suggest is a reasonable time frame on editing ones post?

I'd say 36 hours would be sufficient. The main reason that having the ability to edit is great because some members (including myself) will want to post a picture, but then remove after its been seen so it isn't left open on the Internet. Maybe there could be a special way to edit posts only containing pictures?

If we change it to 2 days... you cool with that? That's 12 hours more than you've requested. ;)

Alas I don't think there is a way to change this to only posts containing pictures. I could be wrong however and will look into this over the next few days.

I just noticed the change as my homepage (ehich was "What's new") was changed :grumpy:
I used to go to a central page which had some form message on the left and the most new posts on the right (usually there were 3 or 4...) Noe EVERY comments it there...
I was looking the the "new posts"and I couln'd find my hands and legs...
For example there was a thread 2 days ago about Julliete Ashby I wanted to read but couldn't find it..

I feel lost! Is it just me?

Nope...I agree with you, I feel equally as lost. I thought it was just me...cause it doesn't take much for me to get lost. :friendlywink:

I disabled the homepage. There were never any articles posted there and the only article that was there was a Welcome Back post which had been posted over a year or so ago. It looked sloppy. Sorry.

"What's New" button in the top menu still works: http://www.amywineho...um/activity.php, we all can use it. :-)

Do links not come up with thumbnails now? For example.

It will if you use the video tags ('Insert Video' when making a post), but otherwise it does seem that the setting to make video links display by default has gone.
