Tonight I'm going to an event in Atlanta. It has jazz artists from around the country performing Amy's hits! I'm super excited!

Also, I only heard of this because a Facebook friend saw a poster and messaged it to me.... I love that people I don't even hang out with see Amy and immediately think of me ❤️😂

How was it??

So great! The venue was a place I could see Amy enjoying putting on a show there, and the singers were incredible! They were obviously doing it because they loved her and her music, and it was wonderful to see a very classy tribute to Amy.

They played many tracks from Frank and Back to Blake, as well as two Donnie Hathaway covers Amy performed, Half Time, and To Know Him Is To Love Him, and Valerie. It was so wonderful.

I didnt necessarily dress up more than I usually do, I always connected with Amy on her style choices and have always had black hair and done the winged eyeliner, but I was up front trying to get my husbands attention to come to me, and supposedly the tipsy gay man next to him was like "Amy's tryin to get your attention bro!" That made me feel really awesome. Ive been told before I remind people of her without TRYING to emulate her, so to me that is the biggest compliment.  :amy_tongue:  :amy_happy:

That's great, that would've been fun. It's really amazing, because I was just reading something about her Billie Holiday today, then I came on the forum and saw that she was getting the tribute now, and that's just so special to me, and it makes me so happy to know that now she gets to be the one that people are inspired by, and she gets to have a status like that of Billie Holiday's, or other musical greats. I always love hearing covers of her songs, but it would be especially lovely hearing her Frank songs being sung by 'real' musicians. I hope it was fun though!
