"Done Events has announced that top international artists Amy Winehouse and Pharrell Williams with his band N*E*R*D, and special guest Mike Posner at the 2011 Gulf Bike Week, from February 10-12.
Thomas Ovesen, Chief Operating Officer, Done Events, said: “Having Pharrell Williams with his band N*E*R*D, Mike Posner and the amazing Amy Winehouse performing over the same weekend is a real scoop and will not only ensure a full house during the Gulf Bike Week event but will also kick off an amazing season of great entertainment in Dubai.”
In addition to the headline acts, Gulf Bike Week 2011 will also incorporate a special Rolling Stone Magazine stage with local and regional bands performing.
There will also be a FMX Stunt Arena; a three-day GCC Motor-X Championship Run; performances of All-Terrain Vehicles in multiple races; live demonstrations at the ATV/UTV Zone; and the Middle East's largest motorbike ride in which over 800 people are expected to participate.

Winehouse cleared to perform in Dubai

DUBAI // The British pop star Amy Winehouse will be the headline act at Gulf Bike Week.
Also appearing at the show in Dubai Festival City, which runs from February 10-12, will be the singer and record producer Pharrell Williams with his band N.E.R.D, along with the singer Mike Posner.
Winehouse has almost completed her new album and will tour Brazil (four concerts in eight days) before coming to Dubai. She has been cleared to perform by the authorities despite her past problems.
Winehouse, who has battled substance abuse during her career, was looking forward to performing in Dubai, said Thomas Ovesen, the chief executive of the concert organiser Done Events.
"She has left her problems behind her and she is now just finalising her new album, which by all accounts is looking very good," he said. "We would not have approached her to perform if we felt there might be a problem with the authorities, and that is definitely not the case."
Winehouse's debut album, Frank, was released in 2003 and was followed three years later by Back to Black, which included the hit single Rehab.
Winehouse has had a battle with alcohol and drugs. She was hospitalised in August 2007 for a reported overdose on a cocktail of drugs including heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine and alcohol. She and her former husband were arrested in Bergen, Norway, later that year for marijuana possession. Winehouse went into drug rehabilitation in 2008.
Gulf Bike Week will feature daily motorcycle exhibitions, stunt bike shows, entertainment and a special stage with local and regional bands performing.



Winehouse will perform at the 15,000-capacity Festival City concert arena on February 11. N.E.R.D and Posner will open the festival on February 10. The festival attracted more than 30,000 bike fans and 14,000 concert fans last year.

i think she is trying to plan a world-tour and testing the waters first...also because I think Dubai hasn't seen much concert action...atleast that is what the articles kinda portrayed. Either way, it stinks she hasn't committed to any tours in the US----i only ever saw her at Coachella :'-(

yeah i guess thats true B-) noo I didn't see Danny but I did saw Paris Hilton (although I am not sure how I feel about it!); I think Devito wanted to eat her up! I wish that I went up to Blake in the audience and started a chat; perhaps perhaps perhaps I couldve met Amy but that day I was being a little to young and silly and was not a very coherent person....it was a lot of fun though, except I can't remember that morning too well. All I know is Amy was WAAASTED but performed great. I wasn't as big of a fan as I am now so I didn't appreciate like I should've; I was sooo pumped about being in Cali. But she was amazinnnng. I am jealous of myself.LOL

def not what i wana hear again. damn .. every artist has bad performances sometimes. just dont want amy 2 make a habit of it . She really cant afford to mess her comeback in music up . Hope she realizes that damages her image with the public and with fans.
