Bruised, battered and desparate for a fag she may be, but Amy is our 21st Century Piaf: flawed yet fabulous, tormented yet towering. Think of her this way and hope that the still remarkably young woman under the eyeliner thinks that way too. - Jude Rogers, The Word

I suspect that Amy's arguing that some of the songs aren't good enough, and I suspect she's right. Was disappointed to hear she only did two new songs at the Moscow gig, then I read that she was told at the last minute that the set list wasn't up to her, and she was supposed to sing all the favorite old songs of the billionaire and his friends, which resulted in an erratic performance. They should let Amy be Amy!
this is terrible...perhaps that is why she really didn't sound good. she needs new material to stop thinking about her past...B2B is soaked with drugs and blake. without new material, I don't think her heart will be into shows

Shouldn't her label be really hyping her forthcoming album by now?
Yes, absolutely, which is why I don't believe one will be forthcoming any time soon. If it is coming soon and her record label is not promoting it, then the only scenario I can imagine is that it's not that great. It's like when movie studios bury atrocious movies by releasing them on a Wednesday instead of a Friday.

I know what you mean . but on the other hand the public has been waiting 4 so long for her next album . With all the trials and tribulations she has been / went through , youd think shed forget about all of the crazy shit in the past and be pumped up and ready 2 give the fans a new album . She really has come a long way from the Amy we would read about in the bad tabloids . I hope she gets back in the magic of music . music that will show the world this true gift she has 2 share with the world . In the long run no matter long it takes 4 her next album , I for one will always be a fan enchanted by her true remarkable talent in music.
I also fear people will loose interest in Amy waiting for something new. I hope the public doesnt giv up hope cuz it truly would be there loss.

To think the first ever show I seen of Amy was only $15-20 bucks. The very last gig she had set up for the US was supposedly going to be like $75 a head. I refuse to pay that much for a show that isn't guaranteed to be a great nite.

Amy, are you happy?
She squints suspiciously at me.
"About what?"
About life.
"I'm happy about this salad."

I think she enjoys making music and doing little gigs. It's her label who rightfully so, wants to cash in on her. I just think she feels too much of the pressure
touring is where artists make their big bucks. the record company gets revenue from units sold during a tour.
i couldn't disagree with you more. i think it is amy herself who feels she can cash it all in with these small gigs for those who can pay her the big bucks. why tour?
we've all got a bit of pressure on us these days, don't we.
i'm not sympathetic

And I understand the label gets money due to the fact that she's promoting the album but at this point, she isn't promoting anything.
And NO we all don't have the same pressures on us. Unless you're a recovering drug addict and alcohol abuser, no, you don't share the same pressures. I can't relate to Amy's situation. I get what you're saying but ya'll aren't rocking in the same boat.
Trust. I've never been a naive Amy fan. I wish her the best but at the end of the day, she did this to herself. I don't doubt she can comeback. She just needs to find herself again because there's nothing cute or adorable about how she's been performing lately.

And a warm wind picks up the fallen blossom
And sails in circles down the street.
A lady cycles past with her hair in braids
As they're pulling down the awning to the train station cafe
I'm alive and I'm thankful
For this time
Six o' clock, summer afternoon
Next door's kids are playing in the yard
I'm doing the dishes at the window and the radio's playing 'Superstar'
And the sun falls down on the garden next door
But two young boys are fighting, till a woman appears at the door
And the fires and the fog and the falling leaves
Under October skies
You walked me home in the cold after closing time
As the leaves rushed by
How I want to be loved
How I need to be loved
Now that I've found you, I'd do anything for you
In the Forest of Angels that's where we laid you down
And I can hear whispers
When the first frost falls on the ground
You're alive, just be thankful
For this time."

I think she will garner interest no matter how long she takes...
As soon as she performs, there is interest...

and, of course,
"Due to incredible demand, Amy has added a second night at Rio's HSBC Arena to her January 2011 Braziian tour (the first show has already sold out)"
She is one of a kind!
Hopefully, she can show us the best of what she's made of, not the worst.

not really testing, more seeing what comes naturally to her as she performs, and then maybe using some of those ideas in the studio album
that is, IF it is, in fact, a studio album...maybe the new album will be "Live at..." lol
for instance, her live versions of B2B are different than the studio version...as are most other songs...they develop into something a bit different...
