The best perfomance i think it's the one she made in Zurich when she sang Back to Black. There is so much pain in her voice. This is the concert when people said that she was taking drug but Alex Foden her hairstylist said that she wasn't taking cocaine but she was crying cos' she was just believing she was pregnant of Blake. She made a test just before begining the concert and it was negative.

I also love when she sang Heard through the Grapevine with Paul Weller and Stagger Lee during the 2011 tour.

Someone would have videos when she sang in Dubai? I've been looking for her new songs she sang during this concert "music matters" and "trouble" but i never found them! And if someone finds back to black in Zurich in a better quality than the ones on youtube..... please let me know! X

I agree, and it defintely shows how talented Amy really is. It shows that she doesn't need a band playing behind her--all she needed was a guitar while we hear her raw vocals piercing through. I love listening to Amy's acoustic performances. It has that coffee-house feeling to it, you know. Amy was one of those performers in which her music was so intimate she didn't always needed to perform at such a large venue. She reminds me a lot of Billie Holiday in the sense that both of these performers were at their best in small venues and at their best when they were only accompanied by a guitar (in Amy Winehouse's case) and by piano (in Billie Holiday's case).

For you I was a flame
Love is a losing game
Five story fire as you came
Love is a losing game

One I wished I never played
Oh what a mess we made
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game

This is one of my FAVORITE songs by her and probably one of the BEST live performances of Tears Dry On Their Own. Amy just nails this song, the notes, and her phrasing is just impeccable! She defintely looks like a singer from the 1960's with the little dance moves and the iconic beehive and yet she brings something modern and contemporary to the table. . . . . AMAZING! This performance was originally aired on Parkinson on 6/17/07:

Also I love this performance of "Love Is A Losing Game" . . . .her voice just soars in the final part of the song and I love the way she sings "and laughed at by the gods". This woman just HAD IT!! She made every song that she sung effortless and only a talented, gifted artist (can't call her just a singer because she is more than a SINGER) can do that.

and I'll see what I can do about getting you audio of Zenith gig. Does it matter if it's not great quality?

Her voice was BLARING around that time. Loved it.

Amy, are you happy?
She squints suspiciously at me.
"About what?"
About life.
"I'm happy about this salad."

If I could have been at any gig, it would have been the Zenith in Paris. I have good quality amateur footage of all the songs from this gig and I've honestly never heard her sound better. From 29th October 07 as well, so supposedly when she shouldn't have been gigging. It was when she sang Donny Hathaway's We're Still Friends (which I'm sure you've seen) and a totally sublime Unholy War
:
Seriously watch this if you haven't already. I personally downloaded all the recordings made by this girl at the gig for fear of her one day taking them down.

This video blew me away. (I had to delete the link in the quote because because this just happens to be my 15th post and my first attempt to post was blocked.) Others have commented but I just wanted to add mine. It's amazing how Amy's voice resonated through that crowded Paris club. Those customers got more than their money's worth.

I sent a link directly from YT to my skeptical brother. He is now an Amy fan.

EDIT: The quote is post 6 in this thread. Also, this is the first time I saw Amy play her guitar in front of a live audience.

Since I'm new both to this forum and to Amy Winehouse, I wouldn't presume to pick her best performance. She's blown me away time and time again. This performance of "Valerie" at the BBC sessions in 2007 struck me with its intensity. She goes from passive to flirty, to intense, to visibly sad, to angry (Don't make a fool out of me!) by the third chorus. She doesn't just sing this song, she lives it.
