MITCH today on BBC radio one tells the world, no more new music or albums to be released....Great shame. He says Amy left absolutely nothing new to put out, she did about fifteen versions of the BtoB album and that's not what they want to keep putting out, so no more albums to come, only his. After all that he has said and what has been leaked in the past I find this all a bit strange. So what do you say????

Hard to say.  Relatively short career which she was non-functional much of the time.  OTOH, I don't think artists go into the studio knowing the ten songs they do will be right for the album so they might record 15 even if they are just jamming on something.  If I had to guess I would think there may be a few but whether they are up to Amy's standards, who knows?  Didn't she write Rehab in the studio in 15 minutes or so?  Or, if they go in with 15 songs but 5 may be iffy, one might take shape in the studio.  So...

Even if they released one or two songs from the BTB sessions that were worthy of being on the record, they could make a lot of money for the foundation which is a very good thing.  Betty Ford was an alcoholic First Lady but she's remembered for pioneering rehab programs and building the betty ford center.  I'd like the music and the good the foundation is doing drown out the bad times in favor of the legacy that she deserves.

I just don't understand why all of a sudden there's a turnaround, after all the leaks and promises of more albums to come, nothing, there Is nothing left to put out. I remember just after Amy died, Island records, blurted out that they have enough good music in its faults to put out three great albums, and some extras. Also, the twelve tracks that Island say they have locked away because Amy apparently didn't wont them released, no longer exist....what? No, there Is a reason why we have a turnaround and It's all about who as control. I'm not happy.

Music industry executives would kill their mothers to turn a buck.  If it's there then someone, for some reason, isn't cooperating.  Let's hope they change their mind.

Let's hope they don't end up leaking it all on to the internet, they did it with Bob Marley and that was a great shame. I remember at the time he died they only had enough music for one album which they put out, but now, just take a listen on YT and there's a trove of great stuff, stuff they say didn't exist. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen with Amy.

I am happy with her two good historic albums B2B and Frank. B2B well what can Isay?? Legendary....  I was not impressed at all with Treasures.  I felt it diluted her genius.  They were her works in progress not album material. If there is no more     let it be.

LaPtop, it's Amy we are discussing here, it's all about the music...surely? I find it hard to believe when you listen to fans coming out with statements like that, it's unthinkable. Personally I loved the hidden treasures album and would like Vol 2, and why not a third? If they have the stuff to put out, then put it out, I know most fans will agree with me.

I wish they had waited to release a third album. I appreciate Between the Cheats, because it's new lyrics and possibly shows where she was going, and Half Time is a lovely younger Amy, and it's cool to hear Tears Dry, but that's only two new songs. Maybe they just took the opportunity because Tony Bennett was releasing his album. Regardless, it consists more of what should be bonus tracks than a solid album, which is really what needs to be put out. But I think if Amy wasn't behind songs being released, they shouldn't be...

There is still SO MUCH out there that we haven't heard ...

Some BBC stuff ...
The full 2003 Janice Long Interview and songs which was actually 45 minutes long
Exclusive set at The Baltic in Gateshead on BBC Radio 2
Athens 2004 Olympic Ball at Battersea Park Marquee on BBC Radio 2
Mica Paris Soul Solutions at the Jazz Cafe on BBC Radio 2
Oneclick / Open (Experimental) Show on BBC Radio 1 (When Amy was the DJ for a full hour an talked about the songs before she played each of them. The BBC included about 7 minutes of this show in one of their tributes that they did in 2011.). Here's the full tracklist of the songs that she played for that show ...

:: Mary J Blige - 'All That I Can Say'
:: Faith Evans - 'Do Your Time'
:: Lil Mo - 'Shoulda Known'
:: Minnie Ripperton - 'Down Memory Lane'
:: Sarah Vaughan - 'April in Paris'
:: En Vouge - 'Giving Him Something He Can Feel'
:: Smokey Robinson - 'Quiet Storm'
:: King Pleasure - 'I'm in the Mood For Love'
:: Musiq - 'Who Knows'
:: Salt-N-Pepa - 'Snoop'
:: Mos Def - 'Tinsetown'
:: Pace Won - 'Locked'
:: Sarah Vaughan - 'Be Anything But...'
:: Lauren Hill
:: Donny Hathaway - 'I Love You'

I would ABSOLUTELY love to hear this full show and hear her thoughts about every song.

And the BBC list goes on, there were numerous shows that she was on where she sang a song or two and/or was interviewed. The BBC always put their recordings of the show up for the week following their broadcast, so you know they did record this stuff. The unfortunate thing is, that they only seem to dole out a little bit on an anniversary of something, like her singing 'Sentimental Journey' on the BBC4 Loose Ends show 10 years ago on a D-Day anniversary. With all of the interviews and songs that we haven't heard yet (and the ones we haven't heard in full), there's most likely enough material for them to do another 4CD box set if not two more. (YES BBC, WE WANT TO HEAR THE INTERVIEWS TOO!!!)

And then... there's all of the non BBC stuff, a few for example ...
SWR3 Star-Talk mit Amy Winehouse at the Tiscali-Lounge in Baden
Jazz Brunch with Amy at Hallam FM Radio
Acoustic Live Set and Interview - Star 98.7/KYSR-FM Radio in Burbank

And there are many, many more. The problem, I think, is that Mitch is completely unaware of what she did during her career. If he would quit focusing on just her studio recordings and enrich himself with the knowledge of all of the other things that she has done, and then negotiate them, he could make $ for the foundation for years to come.

Also, it would be great if they would publish a coffee-table book of her lyrics that were written that never made it into song. I would love to read the lyrics (from her BMI list) of Dolly's Diner, My Own Way, Orange Peel, Oestrogenus, and (from her Lioness notes) Care Instructions, Do Me a Lemon, Gutter, Lion(ess) In Limbo, and especially the lyrics of that last song that Mich mentioned in AMD that she was working on in 2011 titled 'I Need More Time'.

I definately agree with Uno about releasing stuff that has already been broadcast once, as we know that Amy wouldn't be against it (if she was OK with it at the time, then she surely wouldn't mind. It's not like releasing recordings done in the privacy of her own home studio).

Uno you should write to the foundation or to Mitch directly with that info. We understand when he says there will be no more music (I'm pretty sure he's responding to a specific question asked by journalists 'Will there be any new music?' and he's right to put things straight. No there won't be). But I think he would be 100% behind the kind of box-sets you mentioned, with interviews, he just doesn't know about their existence. He definately needs you, he should create a job for you at the Foundation.

What if we sign a collective petition to the Foundation? Uno could do really much if he was authorized.

There are many live recordings that weren't heard before.the quality is not good enough even after being engineered to ever release.
