I like the idea of a book about Amy's music rather than her personal life - although I do take issue with the title, as I think Frank was also a masterpiece! More info here...

Yeah, I agree. I like the idea of a book about what was really important, the music.

I'm one of those people who discovered Amy on the day she passed away. I heard of her, of course; but I never listened to her songs. I wasn't into that kind of "pop fluff", writing her off as someone who relied on bad behavior to attract attention. When I finally got around to listening to her (wondering what all the fuss was about) I was struck!  I never heard anyone like her. She could really sing! Her timing and phrasing were right on. She recorded and toured with a full band of excellent musicians, but her signature contralto voice dominated. I realized I had missed a great talent that I would now never see live on stage. After a few months I joined this forum.

I'm glad that there are people paying attention to her music and supporting her legacy. I will always be a fan of Amy Winehouse and cherish her songs.

I agree Frank had some outstanding songs, but Amy herself was not totally satisfied with it.  Too many people were involved in the production. "Take the Box" is one of my favorite songs.  I think the approach to "Back to Black" was to write simpler melodies and broaden its appeal (less jazz influence). It could have been a dumbed down more commercial album, but it wasn't. It was another masterpiece.
