Merry Christmas!
Here are a couple of rare Q&A Interviews I recently ran across that Amy did back in 2004, enjoy ...

My Friends Say I Can't Dress
The Times
April 08, 2004

Amy Winehouse, 20, is regarded as one of Britain's most exciting new musical
talents. Her debut album, Frank, a blend of hip-hop and jazz, was released
eight months ago to critical acclaim and led to two Brit nominations. Born and
raised in North London, Winehouse received a scholarship to the Sylvia Young
theatre school at 14 but was expelled for laziness. She then attended a girls'
school in South London where she immersed herself in music. She found someone
to manage her and was then signed by Island Records. Her new single, In my Bed,
is out this week. She lives in North London.

What's in your make-up bag?

Paul & Joe foundation and coral lipstick, Chanel red lipliner, Lancome
Amplicil mascara and black liquid eyeliner.

Name your desert island essentials.

My guitar, a four-track and a bikini.

Do you have a beauty secret?

Crystal Clear facials.

What do you wear on a fat day?

I don't dress differently. I just wear what I feel like wearing.

Describe your style

My friends say I can't dress, but I'd just say that I'm
quite eclectic.

What's the most treasured item in your wardrobe?

A pink vintage-silk Chinese dressing gown that I picked up in Brighton. I also
bought one for my gran.

Amy Winehouse never leaves home without ...

My keys and shoes.

Hot date -what do you wear?

Sexy underwear on the couch.

And when you're home alone?

Jogging bottoms.

What do you wear to bed?

Nothing.

You're the fashion police. What do you ban?

Chiffon, basketball shoes and Burberry check.

Has your outfit ever embarrassed you?

No, but I've probably embarrassed the outfit.

How old is too old for a micro-mini?

If you have the legs, go for it.

Which era would you choose to live in for its clothes?

The Forties. I love those seamed stockings, that beautiful silhouette and the
hairstyles and make-up.

What is your most recent purchase?

Candles from Coco de Mer.

What quality do you most admire in a person?

Honesty.

Can you judge a book by its cover?

No, you can't, but you can be wary of it.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Probably flowers -I love pale pink roses from Jane Packer.

What are your guilty pleasures?

A Galaxy bar.

And your dirty habits?

I love the smell of petrol.

Name a cheap thrill.

Toffee vodka.

What's your favorite smell?

An Escada perfume that has been discontinued.

What's the best advice you have ever been given?

My nan says that coral goes with both pink and red.

Describe your best holiday.

Gran Canaria with my family and best friend.

What are you most and least proud of?

I'm most proud of my music and my friends who have supported me, and least
proud of myself when I start acting up.

What's your idea of bliss?

To start working really early in the day and be finished by 3pm -then home to
watch The Fresh Prince of Bel Air on television with a fat spliff and a Jack
Daniels.

Who would you like to come back as in the next life?

Someone who can still play music.

What would you eat for your last supper and who would you share it with?

I'd have a large drink with my best friend.

Yes or no to a nip and tuck?

Ask me in 30 years' time.

What part of your body would you change?

My feet are my best feature, but I cut off one of my toes opening cat food
when I was six. I might have an operation to straighten that out.

How would you like to be remembered?

By my new album, and as someone who wasn't satisfied with the music out there
and wasn't afraid to make a change.

How good-looking are you on a scale of 1 to 10?

10.

Love And Hypochondria
December 13th, 2004
Daily Mail

AFTER the weather and income tax, the things we talk about most are sex and health. In this new weekly column, we grill celebrities on these two subjects. Amy Winehouse is the gravel-voiced jazz singer who won an Ivor Novello award and this year's Mercury Prize for her debut album, Frank, which has sold more than 200,000 copies. Still only 21, she lives in Camden and comes from a traditional North London Jewish background. Her parents separated when she was nine. Her father is a taxi driver and her mother a pharmacist.

DO YOU HAVE A HIGH TOLERANCE TO PAIN?
I MUST have a high one because I've had loads of piercings done in really sensitive areas, including my tongue and nose. I don't know what I was thinking of!

WOULD YOU RATHER A QUICK, SUDDEN DEATH OR AN ILLNESS WITH TIME TO PREPARE?
WITH time, so I could write songs.

WHAT DO YOU FEAR?
I DON'T think I'm scared of anything. I'm not scared of snakes or spiders or anything. But I am scared of my nan. She's little, but she's a frightening person.

WHAT'S YOUR TIP FOR CURING A COLD?
I'M LUCKY in that I'm not very prone to colds. But I smoke so much that I do get coughs. For me, Potter's Herbal Cough Remedy is the best. It's like thick Coca-Cola.

WHAT HEALTH PROBLEMS HAVE YOU HAD OR DO YOU WORRY ABOUT?
I'M JEWISH which seems to go hand-in-hand with hypochondria, but I am not worried about anything. I don't like living in fear.

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?
LISTENING to and making music. And my friends. That's what my life revolves around, the people I love.

HOW MANY HOURS OF SLEEP DO YOU NEED?
WHEN I'm on tour and I'll go out with the band, two hours is all I need. When you do a show, your adrenaline is so high that you have to smoke or drink yourself down, or go out. But normally, having four hours' sleep is lucky.

YOGA OR WORKOUT?
BOTH. I think that's the dance training I had when I was at stage school because strength training is good, but Pilates is best for core strength and that's what you need. Pilates is the best thing for a woman's body.

BURGERS?
I also love sausage and mash whatever time of day.

AS A GIRLFRIEND, ARE YOU HIGH OR LOW-MAINTENANCE?
I GUESS I'm high-maintenance in that I expect my boyfriend to come to my house and sleep with me every night. I'm an all-or-nothing person, but I also like to look after my man and make him feel like a king.

IN RELATIONSHIPS ARE YOU THE ONE WHO LIKES TO LOVE MORE OR BE LOVED?
I FEEL comfortable with both because of my parents. When I was little, if I walked into a room where my dad was, I'd get kissed and cuddled by him. He was the same with my mum when they were still together. Because he was so like that, she was less so.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF?
MY SENSE of self-discipline. I used to be really disciplined, physically and mentally, but it is so easy to get lazy.

HAVE YOU BEEN IN LOVE?
THERE aren't too many men that I have given myself to -- and I don't mean sexually, because I don't feel that you have to have sex with a man to give yourself to him. I feel that there aren't many men with whom I've dropped my guard or shown real affection to. But I've still never met a man who can actually take care of me.

ARE YOU IN LOVE?
AT THE moment I don't have the time to be able to respect a boyfriend properly, and I can't expect a boyfriend to respect and honour what I do right now, so I am not looking for anything on a surface level. I have never been the kind of girl who can just have a man around whether she likes him or not. Men are so cool -- I love them. But I can't see any man being a permanent fixture in my life any time soon.

WOULD YOU RATHER BE EMOTIONALLY HURT OR DISCONTENT?
HURT, because discontent is something you can't put your finger on. It's not an emotion -- it's an unsettlement which is the worst kind of thing. At least if you're hurt, you can scream: 'You b****d!' But if you are with a man who really likes you, but he has a prior engagement and therefore can't go out with you, you can't be hurt because you know he likes you. But you can be discontent because he can't be there for you.
