I'm probably the only one here who find this important, but I've discovered that the 24bit MQA issue of Frank has less digitally clipped peaks than any CD version. There's significantly less distortion in many of the tracks. I find that the difference is most easily heard on Help Yourself, but the whole album sounds less harsh. At first I thought this was just due to the MQA processing, but then I also noticed that the short digital clicks (or whatever it is) in the intro to Take The Box are also completely gone. Could the MQA version be sourced from a different 24bit master than the CDs? The bad news is that MQA is in itself a flawed technology. The non-MQA 24bit digital download is watermarked so that version is completely pointless. I hope to one day hear this album (my favorite album of all-time) without the brickwall mastering style of the late Tom Coyne. This can so far only be heard on the "clean" version of Take The Box music video.
