I've never understood what this line means. Can someone tell me? Is it glaringly obvious to everyone apart from me?

i think the song is about taking up all that stuff that you brought to the relationship both physical and emotional and now, at the end of the relationship, shes taking it all away and saying all she needs to get past/over it is her frank(sinatra) records well this is only my take on it

I don't know where I read it...somewhere unreliable...but some one said Frank was a dog she had in the relationship or something, but that could be totally wrong.

I always thought she was reffering to some Frank Sinatra records altough he was so bland and boring that I can't really picture her listening to his records.

Sorry but I can't stand Frank's jazz standards. He makes them so plain and boring :P Bring on Ella Fitzgerald, La Vaughan, Holiday or Dinah Washington!

Fitzgerald and Holiday are fab! But Frank is a genius! He was gorgeous :lovelove: and his voice was lovely!!!!!!!!! I love him.

I agree with ya. Frank's voice was great but he didn't sing particularly interestingly. The others you mentioned are much preferable IMO.

But yea, I always assumed it was Frank Sinatra records she was referring to. Perhaps she says "... and I don't care" because she feels the same way we do?

 jk

I know she talks about Sarah Vaughan in October Song, and Donny Hathaway in "Rehab." Can't remember off the top of my head what other name-dropping she's done though.
