I always thought she was saying that he should take the box with the gift that he bought her and that she didn't care if her "Frank" CD was in there. Just take it and leave!

"When I say ‘Frank’s in there and I don’t care,’ that is literally a Frank Sinatra CD. He bought me it for Christmas and I was putting all his stuff in a box, like his T-shirt that I used to sleep in. He bought me Frank Sinatra’s In The Wee Small Hours – ironically, cos it’s one of the classic heartbreak albums of all time." - Amy

Frank Sinatra makes more sense.. I always had the feeling that "put it in the box, Frank's in there" is about her then-soon to be released album, as in "my demos - things I cherish most - are there, so there's no turning back".

That's cool about songs, everyone can bring their own interpretations and they mean different things for individuals :D

Fitzgerald and Holiday are fab! But Frank is a genius! He was gorgeous :lovelove: and his voice was lovely!!!!!!!!! I love him.

I love Sinatra's voice. No fla fla's in the interpretation; simple, but in a good way.

I don't know where I read it...somewhere unreliable...but some one said Frank was a dog she had in the relationship or something, but that could be totally wrong.

I always figured it was a Sinatra record but I read this post here back in the days when I lurked the forum and since then I'd always imagine a confused puppy in a box when listening to those lyrics. Love it!

He still stands in spite of what his Mars bar says.

I always thought she was reffering to some Frank Sinatra records altough he was so bland and boring that I can't really picture her listening to his records.

I think she listened to Frank Sinatra more when she was a little girl with her father. So I wonder if this song may be about her dad leaving and also may be breaking up with this guy Chris who she wrote a lot of the songs on "Frank" about. I'm suprised no one's mentioned the lyrics that go..

"The Moschino bra you bought me last Christmas,
Put it in the box!
Franks in there and I don't care!...put it in the box!"
