[attachment=722]Gerald Laing, one of the original wave of 1960s Pop Artists, is launching a stunning new portrait of singer Amy Winehouse at this year’s Affordable Art Fair. He is co-publishing the limited edition silkscreen print, entitled The Kiss, with cutting-edge UK gallery ocontemporary. The piece uses Pop Art’s famous newsprint technique (a technique pioneered by Laing himself) to depict Winehouse standing on a red carpet, and locked in a passionate embrace with husband Blake Fielder-Civil. This reprise of Rodin’s famous sculpture The Kiss is a commentary on how romance is portrayed in popular culture.
