Hi - I can't remember who was asking about this Amy biography. Initially it was going to be published in the UK as a hardback only, but it looks like they are releasing a paperback copy over here in the U.S. at the same time. I have no idea what it will be like, if it will be good or terrible, but the author also writes for The Observer, Uncut, Mojo and The Times - good publications, and there's a Bio of him in the link. Anyway, that's that I guess.

This is the link for Amazon U.S.

Even though both of these books are probably going to be very expensive I think I'll buy them both as soon as they're available as hardcover or hardback versions or whatever you call it.

Umm, its much too early for an Amy biography. We need to wait till shes much older.

I'm more interested in the Johnstone book, because he seems to know his music at least. The other one looks like a fairly typical celeb biography - I'll wait for the reviews I guess...

I'd love to have a book on Amy. I definitely want to wait for some reviews, though.

I've just started reading the Nick Johnstone book ("Amy, Amy, Amy").

I'll have more comments once I get into it more. When I first started flipping through it, I noticed many passages that had obviously been derived from other sources I had already seen. And at times the author seems reduced to speculation, like the rest of us, and to platitudes. But now I see there seems to be a lot of stuff about the early days that is new to me. And some pics that are new to me.

The Intro put me off at first because it opens with the scene of Amy walking around in Bow at 5am in her underwear, which I don't think should be the way the Amy Winehouse story should open. But I liked Chapter 1 immediately as it opens with an interestng description of what you see as you come out of the Tube station in Southgate, Amy's birthplace.

One interesting tidbit: Juliette Ashby's father was the founder of WENN (World Entertainment News Network), which is how Amy got a job there as a music journalist.

Interesting...That was probably the setting for the office romance story in "You Sent Me Flying."
