Just found this:
Amy Winehouse to Attempt Gajillionth Comeback TonightPublished: Friday, May 30, 2008Amy Winehouse has been added to the bill for Nelson Mandela's all-star June 27 birthday bash in London, reports NME. But before the Grammy-winning soul singer/human pincushion can share the stage with A-listers such as Oprah Winfrey, Queen, Will Smith, Robert De Niro and Leona Lewis, the world is waiting to see whether she can drag her (recently diapered) behind to a festival stage in Lisbon, Portugal, tonight.
Tonight's gig could be Wino's gajillionth chance to redeem herself as a functioning performer. But amid (well-earned) speculation that she's still too drugged, messed-up and impetigo-faced to pull it off, Wino's people have reportedly hired a team of wellness experts -- including a masseuse, nutritionist and "relaxation therapist" (is that what they're calling "crack dealers" these days?) to help her pull it off.
According to sources quoted in Britain's Daily Mirror, "this gig is hugely important as it will either give her summer U.S. tour the go-ahead or see it scrapped altogether. Both the record company and bookers in the States are using this weekend's gig as a marker to see whether Amy is up to it or is still totally unreliable."
However, it seems that ol' Ames has yet to get the memo. Says the Mirror's source: "While her band have been practising for the past two weeks, Amy hasn't turned up to a single rehearsal."
Gig bible Pollstar.com shows that any upcoming U.S. stops for Winehouse have yet to be scheduled, though the star does have a smattering of European appearances penciled in throughout the summer
