don't forget, the rule for platinum is diff in UK. a platinum album there is one that's sold 300,000 where here it has to sell 1,000,000 to be declared platinum status. but yeah, she's on her way to 3 mill here....

I just emailed Billboard asking them what's up with Amy not being on their list of RIAA Platinum Certification section. See what they say...

The Grammys gave Back To Black a big boost in sales. Radio airplay, on the other (or more precisely, the lack thereof), didn't seem to be much of a factor.

I agree with Lainey and Kev. Perez said he was a friend of Amy's and behaved otherwise, basically for his own profit, when she could have used a friend. That disgusted me. I'm thinking maybe it was Universal PR more than Amy behind this gift. I'm jealous though, what an amazing gift.

Yeah, that was my thought also...that it was Universal PR....and I don't think he deserves that gift....sigh....such is the PR business.....

I dont think they replied. Did they??? Actually, the record company has to pay to RIAA a certain amount of money (I dont know how much) to have a record certified. Therefore, there are lots of records that have went gold, platinum and diamond that have never received any OFFICIAL certification. I think Billboard figures is still the best bet to see actual sales.
