can somebody shed some light on these lines? I don't get the symbolism/metaphor....

I never really got the pipe metaphor, but I thought that the rolling meant that she (the penny) was out of control, just rolling around aimlessly? Don't have a clue really - just a wild guess.....

I looked it up cause it was bugging me lol...
Many people seem to think that since the song appears to be about drugs+break-ups... That pipe is a crack pipe and the penny is a crack rock.

I don't really know how that works.

I think it was a metaphor for what her life is like without him, like Lainey said, she was out of control, didn't know what to do with herself...

Yes, that's kind of what I was thinking of - roller coaster is a good metaphor.

But the thing that's so great to me is that lyrics can mean different things to different people, and I think it's cool to have different interpretations, hear others opinions....
