This means the world to me. Chrissie Hynde is one of my heroes and for her to be saying nice things about Amy is the best. From an interview in the latest RS:

Question: "I saw The Pretenders tape a VH1 special, and you were gushing about Kings of Leon."
Chrissie:" I WAS gushing. It's emabarresing but true. I was so glad to love something again. It gets harder as you get old. But there are alot of artists that I love for their original spirits and voices, like Amy Winehouse. She's a gas."

Heard a song off their latest record yesterday. Sounded fresh. So glad to hear them again.

wow, you brought back a memory for me. I used to listen to the pretenders during my college days in the early 80's. I had an 8-track(do u remember those) that I played over and over. LOL she looks great too! time has been good to her.

thanks for the post. "I'll stand by you" got me.

do i remember 8-tracks? i totally remember putting a book of matches under the tape so it wouldn't double track. or knowing the exact point on albums when it would click over. like-been a long time---click---since a rock and roll.

i even remember four tracks. like 8tracks but had a whole in the bottom of the case. they worked just as bad or worse than 8 tracks.
