Amy Winehouse exclusive: Star thinking of dumping husband Blake
By Tom Bryant 7/11/2008
Amy Winehouse is “seriously considering” ending her turbulent marriage, she told pals last night.
The singer made an emotional phone call to a confidante after hearing her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was out of prison – and declared: “I don’t know if I want to be with him.”
Amy, 25, is also “in two minds” about visiting the junkie jailbird in the Surrey rehab clinic that is believed to be a condition of his early release.
She is livid that she did not know Blake was leaving Edmunds Hill jail in East Anglia for the seven-week course that he allegedly expects her to fund.
And she said: “Everything has changed. I’m trying to move on and I can’t take the pain any more. I’m still thinking about whether to see him.” Amy has stood by Blake in the past. But her increasingly infrequent prison visits ceased when he was transferred from Pentonville in north London.
Her friend said: “Things are really bad between her and Blake. She doesn’t know any more if he’s the one. It is really sad but this could be the end.”
Electronically-tagged Blake, 26, was freed on Wednesday almost a year into his 27-month sentence for GBH and attempting to pervert justice following a drink-and-drug-fuelled attack on a pub landlord.
With his arms covered in fresh scratches as well as old scars, he said coarsely: “I’m going to see my wife and take her knickers down.
“It’s tough inside. Bloody horrible. But I’m out now and it’s brilliant. I’m gonna get sorted … get my life back.”
Amy’s dad Mitch, though, is no fan of the serial drug abuser. The ex-cabbie is already “incandescent” about his rehab funding and is urging her to have a “long, hard think” on the relationship.
The source said: “Amy is his priority. All he cares about is her. Everything else is a distraction – especially Blake.”
