Maybe they like to see reflections of their dead souls in costly clothes, giving them a false sense of self-worth, like the emperor's clothes did... until it was no longer accepted.That dress looks so much better on Amy than it does that stone-faced stick insect. I will never understand what people find attractive about these blank, expressionless vacant-looking models.
Edit: I think that is why Amy is so special in these times: NOT a dead soul in costly clothes, but a brave soul painfully baring itself. Listening to Frank yesterday, I welled up, because the source of it is so authentic, laid bare by this tiny, brave person we see today who would be better off adding pounds to herself than to the industry's bank account.
