Jay-Z Winehouse Collaboration

Jay-Z has explained that he’d love to work with Amy Winehouse on her future material and it could be exactly what the Rehab singer needs in order to save her new album.
Amy was told recently by her record label that they didn’t like the reggae tones that they’d heard in the material she’s been working on for her new album.

It was reported that Wino then enlisted ‘Back to Black’ producer and old friend Mark Ronson, to help her save the project and the as-yet-untitled album is expected to be released later this year.

Well, it looks like there could be another boost available to Amy. Speaking to The Sun Newspaper, international rap superstar Jay-z, who has already remixed ‘Rehab’ for Wino explained ‘Amy has a really powerful voice, it is so distinctive and beautiful”.

Continuing “Hopefully in the future we could get together and work on some new material, I’d love to work with her again.”

Hate to say it but I'm sick of hearing when this record will come out. I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope it's Ronson and not Jay Z as well. I don't think a modern, generic hip-hop sound would be a good backdrop for her unique and timeless songwriting. Also, I was not impressed with that remix he did at all. No offense to him, he's fine for what he does, I just think given the quality of what Amy is capable of, she deserves better.

She needs to jam a lot to find what works, and not leave all the accompaniment to the producer.Nice to see JayZ call her "distinctive and beautiful”! I hope her label isn't pressuring her to go with any kind of production she's not happy with!
If I were her, I'd want to join Sinatra & Michael Jackson on the awesome list of people produced by Quincy Jones.

looking back over his catalogue he doesn't have that many production credits
only as an executive producer, but thats just the final yes or no
jay z cant even handle a remix that well
since when did adding an extra rap vocal constitute a remix

i agree about the rehab remix but that doesnt take away the fact hes one of the best best producers right now..

he isnt credit as a producer on a SINGLE track
just executive producer of the albums, and at that only his later

you're absolutely right. everyone is, yeah thinking about it twice makes u realize that Jay Z is no good for Amy's new album.

PS - I've absolutely hated what he did in the Rehab (fake remix)

he produced most of the blueprint, practically owns two record labels, won grammy's and a made fortune with his music. Maybe he's more of a business man, but critics all over the world say hes one of the most influential artist/performer/writter/singer/producer of the last 10,20 years.. so i wouldnt take credit from him that easily.

besides where does it say he wants to produce her?
he said 'work with her'..??

i know what hes done, maybe more influential being a artist/lyricist
just not as a producer, an executive producer maybe, but that just means he has the final say on what goes on the album
most of the blueprint album was produced by kanye west, he again, not credited as a producer
