John Lee Hooker - The Healer

Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

Artistic interpretation of the Star of David, the symbol that Amy often wears (to court, for example) on a necklace, to serve her as a luck charm, or talisman. I try to send her as much good energy (for want of a better word) as I can, hoping that she'll get some healing from different sources, as she needs a lot of good to counter the bad that she gets such a hard time from. So it's all about healing.

P.S.: And maybe you just missed my first post, with the John Lee Hooker clip, and then my explanation might come across a bit condescending, which it isn't meant to, Sue, but I'm feeling wordy today, so I'm explaining everything to smithereens.

John Lee Hooker & Carlos Santana - The Healer (1990)

Comment:
Aco1890 (2 weeks ago)

a few years ago i changed hearing from the music, my friends listened to, to the music my father loves(i´m 28 now), it´s just worlds between. i guess there will never again be bands like grand funk railroad, jimi hendrix, john lee hooker or santana and so on. THIS was music, it´s magic, it never becomes old, I JUST LOVE THIS STUFF

Great and true comment.

Grand Funk got the worst reviews ever. Critics hated them but they did OK with the people

To us she's already unforgettable and a legend, but when Amy continues to write, compose, record and perform her own songs, then I'm certain that the world won't deny her the honour of belonging amongst the greats.

John Lee Hooker back in his prime:
Saw him that year ('65) thanks to the folk music/coffeehouse movement at the time where you could see great artists in a small club setting, get cranked on expresso, and not have to be the legal drinking age. Sat 6 feet away from him, and 3 feet away from his amp, and was blown away. Shame that young people today no longer have that opportunity.

Hey, Lordy mama don't you suffer alone
Just call me as quick as you can
And I'll be over with the antidote honey
I'm your medicine man
