I especially like the part in bold.

Amy Winehouse is addicted to exercise.

The Rehab singer - who has spent the past year drug-free following her public battle with addictions to heroin and crack cocaine - spends hours working out every day but her family think this is a positive step.

Her father Mitch Winehouse - who has always stood by the songstress - told BANG Showbiz: "Everything at the moment is under control. Sometimes - and I'm not talking about Amy - but sometimes other addictions come after another addiction.

"One of Amy's positive addictions is she's got her own gym. She's in the gym three or four hours a day. I mean boy is she fit - really, really fit. So that's a really positive addiction.

"But addictions can come in groups. It can be buying stuff, buying stuff that's not necessary. She's been through that as well. The whole process is one of recovery."

Amy spent several months earlier this year living on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia to escape her demons and work on her new material.

Although she has always been supported by her close-knit family, Mitch said most of Amy's recovery is down to her own determination.

He explained to BANG Showbiz: "We've got a wonderful family. It's been difficult, but what you've got to realise is Amy's the one who decided to change. Whatever I said at the time would go in one ear and out the other. It was her decision to give up drugs. She was the one who started the process.

"She was the one who carried it all the way through and we encourage her and help her in any way that we can. But you know, not enough recognition is given to her. As a family we just did what we were doing - being a family.

"She lost her way a little bit, she did. I think that's a fair way of putting it but now she's found her way back again, and that's great."

Meanwhile, the former taxi-driver has revealed Amy had her recent breast enlargement operation because her boobs were "saggy".

He explained: "I don't think the boob job was about confidence. I think that when she lost all that weight, the weight never came back on her boobs and they were saggy. So whatever the reason is, she looks great now."

Mitch Winehouse's Showbiz Rant will air on Liv, the UK's first online TV channel, at www.livingtv.co.uk.

i wonder how Janis is doing? i remember being so pissed at Amy's illness for so many reasons, chief among them was the way it affected her Mom's health who has MS. So many addicts/alcoholics turn to exercise in recovery. i do hope she's doing something for her spiritual life as well.

Yeah you don't hear about her Mum as much, I hope she's OK... but then if she wasn't we'd have heard something.

Yeah see I personally think an addiction to exercise for someone like Amy who is terribly thin anyway... prob not such a great idea. Look at Madonna, I hope Amy doesn't go that far that she's incredibly veiny and too muscled

Dear Mitch,

Please stop talking about your daughter's boobs. This isn't the first time you've done so, and it's weird. It was creepy when Jessica Simpson's father talked about her breasts and it's creepy now.

Thanks.

I figured it was a breast lift, not silly-cone filled. Mitch, leave the PR to the wonderful witches and wizards of Ms. Winehouse's group.

Edit: a pre-post double-post:-S That's a first. I must've hit a magical button. Deleted.

Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

Yes, it is great that Amy is winning the fight against those demons that fe(e)d on her like vampires, drinking her weaknesses (or call it a psychological predisposition, fears, call it anything, but not a disease, 'cause it isn't) like blood. I'm familiar enough with her battle, as I've conquered one of such demons myself, though, like Amy too, probably, I'm still fighting others. When fear is literally in your blood, like it is with alcohol and hard-drugs addictions, the battle can only be won when you've found an alternative within yourself and are prepared to try to make it work in your life.

Amy has been and is being courageous in her fight, bringing herself back from the brink of madness and possibly death. Mitch is right to be very proud of her, and to be positive about the future, 'cause he has plenty of reasons to be. He's also right in saying that Amy doesn't nearly receive enough recognition for what she has already achieved and is still doing. To me, Amy is an almost epic example of how one should never give up the hope that a change for the better is always possible, no matter how bad the current condition and situation may be.
