Quoted from Paula
"Her name should be Amy Whinehouse"

Good play of words.

Nevertheless, I like her voice and it's a real pitty that there ain't no new recordings from her, at least as far as I know. I don't care what the media are reporting about her, I just feel very sorry for her as a person and highly talented musician. I rather blame them for not letting alone this sick young woman. Unfortunately many artists have similar problems but shall I banish Charles Baudelaire, Janis Joplin, Billy Holiday, Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, Ray Charles, Charles Bukowski, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Curt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash etc. etc. from my shelf because of that ? NO. They have done a lot more for our culture than probably any of those cheap pop stars and starlets will ever do in their little lives which of course doesn't mean that non of them are worth a dime.

This finally had to be said!

Like Tesla says: it had to be said.
Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

And another one, a YT comment; wasn't looking for it, but when I'd played You Know I'm No Good, it caught my eye, and I liked it.

see its funny to me ok she has a problem and obviously yall know that however thats her personal life and im sure before you knew that you were listening to her music just like you are now leaving rude comments so you make no sense she has talent but she has a personal problem who doesnt lets see umm ray charles, heath ledger, mel gibson, britney spears, hector lavoe..... etc etc so hey its either you like the song or you dont other than that its their personal life not ours

I think she's become much more about tabloid speculation to most people than the music. People tend to forget how good the BTB songs were, as I suppose it was a while ago now - I know people haven't totally forgotten but because we've had nothing new for years and because all people hear is "news" on her...well, people need to be reminded :)

Amy could have a say in this direction but she chooses not to. I don't think the public has buried her as far as her artistic accomplishments of the past, but she has deliberately created a bad ass persona whose acting out and bad behavior is all the public gets now. And, that seems ok with her.
The music arists mentioned above were paid nowhere near what Amy has made, so they worked...and worked...and worked. And, however messed up they were in their personal lives the show went on.
I hope Amy's able to recreate herself with a decent work ethic that shows respect for the fans who made her what she is in the music industry. There's no denying her huge talent, if she would just get out of her own way...

her talent has been buried by all the ugly photos and crazy behaviour, but she still has tons of backing... not just us "regular" fans, but A LOT of celebrity fans. The girl has issues, who doesn't? The difference is, she's got crazy fucking talent. If she can pull it together with this next album all will be forgotten, it's just the fact that it's taking SO long for this next album. The mob is fickle ;) It's us true fans who are not

I just hope the pressure of topping her last success isn't the thing causing her problems/anxiety now. I KNOW my girl has the skills to do it.
