AMY WINEHOUSE's new album is coming out in December, says her old man MITCH.

The former cabbie turned singer said her CD has taken so long because every album she writes is so heart-wrenching.
That they are. But we both know that's not the only reason.
At least Mitch has a record out to fill the void. I heard him belt out tracks from his debut disc Rush Of Love last week and was pleasantly surprised. He's got a pretty good voice on him.
Although I'd much rather listen to Amy.

Oh... it's The Sun. I thought it was official news. Sun News = No news for me.
And I go back to... I go back to us.

Bruised, battered and desparate for a fag she may be, but Amy is our 21st Century Piaf: flawed yet fabulous, tormented yet towering. Think of her this way and hope that the still remarkably young woman under the eyeliner thinks that way too. - Jude Rogers, The Word

^ Well, it's what Mitch says, although his optimism can distort reality as much as The Sun's cynicism. Plus Salaam says he's working on "finishing" the album.

You're right, it could be true (I didn't read the article). But the one thing being an Amy fan has taught me is not to get too excited about anything until you see it.

EDIT: Oh, I did actually read the article. I read akemi's post and thought it were just the first couple of lines but now I saw that that was actually the entire article.

EDIT 2: Lol, The Sun says: Amy Winehouse's new album is coming out in December, says her old man Mitch.
BBC says: The follow-up is "a work in progress" and will "hopefully" be released in time for Christmas, her father said.

You can never be to careful with Amy, I don't want to get my hopes up. December is far away, a lot can happen in the meantime. Though, Salaam Remi saying he's finishing Amy's album is the best news I've heard in a while...

Here's the latest:

WINEHOUSE ALBUM WILL BE NEW YEAR BELTER

It's been three years, nine months and 14 days...and counting.

But, finally, we can reveal Amy Winehouse is back with a long-anticipated release date for her comeback album. And what a stonker it promises to be.

With enough material for "three separate" albums, the singer has given her record label the thumbs-up, promising an offering even more successful than her Grammy-award-winning classic Back To Black.

Yep, the new album, as yet unnamed, will probably hit stores as early January, with 14 tracks set to be laid down. And the 26-year-old star is also allsinging, all-dancing in her home life. She's about to move in with Reg Traviss just three months after the pair started dating. Says our studio mole: "It's been an incredible past few weeks for Amy. She has completely turned her life around.

"It has been a long time coming - and she's been writing songs for what seems an eternity - but finally Amy is satisfied and believes she has an album worthy of a four-year wait.

"She's held meetings with the record label, Universal, and they are putting everything into promotion. "A lot of the material covers her romance with Blake Fielder Civil and their acrimonious split, plus, of course, her battle with the booze and drugs. "It is very raw and very personal - it promises to be another classic. She is now narrowing down the material and hopes it'll be on shelves by the new year."

There is even a tour in the offing, with Amy keen to play at a host of intimate venues as well as Wembley and Manchester's MEN. But it's her private life that's really making Wino smile at the moment.

Adds our source: "She's asked Reg to move in with her and he's agreed.

"He has met all the family and is a hit. It's his calming influence which Amy is crediting for the early finish of the album."

We really hope you are black to your best, Amy...

Pinch or bowl of salt? Or, cautious optimism?

Metro:

http://www.metro.co....in-the-new-year

Beaming as she supported boyfriend Reg Traviss at the premiere of his film, Psychosis, Amy said she would have new hits for our iPods by January.

Ending the guessing game about the record, the 26-year-old exclusively gave us the full details during the bash at the Prince Charles Cinema in London’s Leicester Square.
‘The album will be six months at the most,’ she said, positively bouncing in her glam pink dress.
The Grammy award-winner added that it will be similar to her hit record Back To Black, explaining: ‘It’s going to be very much the same as my second album, where there’s a lot of jukebox stuff and the songs that are... just jukebox, really.’

While Winehouse’s previous attempts at a live comeback have been slated as ropey at best, the plucky star explained she liked to freestyle on stage. ‘I tend to write everything first,’ she said. ‘The live show is pretty much whatever it is for me.’

And on the prospect of a return to form and proving herself again, Amy added: ‘I just can’t wait to have some new songs on stage, really.’ So, will horror film director Reg – who has been credited with helping Winehouse’s recovery – be overseeing her next video then? Unlikely, said the star, adding: ‘I think Reg has got a lot on.’

After several bids to clean herself up in the Caribbean, Winehouse said it was good to be back – and to be sober on the streets where she once caused mayhem. ‘To be in London is a holiday, to be honest,’ she added.

Good luck to you, Amy. We await your comeback with eager anticipation.

Another story, from the same publication:

http://www.metro.co....iss-inspires-me

While the world frowned on her hellraising hedonistic years, Amy said she needed the experience for better or worse.

And she revealed workaholic Reg had inspired her to pull her finger out.

‘With Reg, I’m the sort of person who will sit down to write and I won’t stop until I have an album’s worth. I’ve needed to have a couple of experiences and so on and Reg is really inspirational,’ said the 26-year-old.
‘I’ve just been doing lots of writing recently and Reg is a workaholic.’

Unlike her ex, Blake Fielder-Civil, Amy said Traviss, 33, meant business from day one.

The smitten singer revealed: ‘I was speaking to his dad the other day, who said he would come home from work when Reg was a kid and see him writing at the table and then he’d get up for work the next day and Reg would still be writing at the table. So it’s really inspirational for me because it gets me doing a lot more.’
Only a crowbar will separate the pair, it seems. ‘I’m just made up for Reg tonight,’ said the Back to Black singer.

‘I’m so proud of him. We were just sitting in the car just now and he said to me, “You look so lovely” and I said to him, “You look so handsome”.’

While we’d love to see her have a go at acting, she ruled out joining Traviss on set. ‘I’m a musician, so no,’ she said.

Awwwww - I like Reg!

It is soooooooooo nice to hear from a guy like Reg instead of Blake. What a difference. I'm happy for Amy. She deserves it after being with that lousy no life for too long.

So this thread should be re-baptized Amy's New Jukebox Classics or something... anyway, the good news doesn't fail to get better (and better):

Amy Winehouse Back To Tracks

Grammy award winning singer/songwriter AMY WINEHOUSE has confirmed that her long awaited third album is due to be released within the next six months. It's been an eventful four years since the singer released her critically acclaimed Back to Black album back in 2006 which has now sold over ten million copies worldwide, but Amy seems to have got her life back on track. Her new boyfriend film director REG TRAVISS is apparently moving in with the 'Rehab' star in what is looking like a new chapter in her turmoil filled life.

A source recently told the Daily Mirror "It's been an incredible past few weeks for Amy. She has completely turned her life around. It has been a long time coming - and she's been writing songs for what seems an eternity - but finally Amy is satisfied and believes she has an album worthy of a four-year wait."

It is going to be a hard act to follow a five Grammy award winning album but Winehouse has re-enlisted the help of producer SALAAM REMI, who collaborated with her on 'Back to Black' as well as her debut album 'Frank'. When asked about the forthcoming release Island Records boss DARCUS BEESE told BBC news "I've heard a couple of song demos that absolutely floored me," he said. "Hopefully we'll have her album next year." he also added that that the writing and recording of the album had been "in fits and starts". This may well account for such a long gap between albums.

Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

Beyonce & Winehouse Are Top Of Legend's Duet Wishlist

JOHN LEGEND is on the hunt for more acts to collaborate with - and has his sights set on BEYONCE and AMY WINEHOUSE.

The Ordinary People crooner is a fan of teaming up with fellow artists on his records, boasting duets with Kanye West, Fergie, Estelle and King of Pop Michael Jackson shortly before his death last year (09).

Legend is eager to hit the studio with troubled singer Winehouse - who hasn't released an album in four years - as well as R&B superstar Beyonce - but admits the collaborations only work if both parties are on the same wavelength.

He tells the Huffington Post, "Usually I'm a fan of their work on some level and I think we could make something great together, and it's usually just a phone call away and a little bit of scheduling and we usually make it happen.

"As long as everyone comes into it with the right attitude, you know, a little bit of humility and a bit of that collaborative spirit, then you usually make something good out of it.

"I have a few people that I'd love to write for or write with, like Amy Winehouse would be fun. Beyonce would be cool too, just to name a few."
