I've always loved this song, because it's true - the best parties do end in tears! I can almost hear Amy's vocals in my head, already. It can sound petulant but Amy could bring out the melodrama like nobody else.
Very excited about this, I think it could actually improve on the original...

i don't like the song at all. it's been done too many times, if i read the title i can hear charlotte church in my head (or who was the 12 year old who once covered it?).
i don't know if you can change much in it's sound, especially when it's done by mark.

I'm with you, Mono, I'm really not much of a fan of the song at all. I've never heard a 12 year old/ Charlotte Church sing it (sounds dreadful - either way!), but I am very familiar with the high-camp, tongue-in-cheek version by Bryan Ferry, which is quite fun.
I'm intrigued to hear what Amy/ Mark have done with it.

I'm with Mono and Lainey, but I think it will be interesting to hear her voice again after so long to see if it has changed like it did between Frank and BtB. I'd MUCH rather hear something original, but then again, something is better than nothing. Like others have said, at least we know she's up to something.
