Amy Winehouse
Seems we've managed to crash amywinehouse.com with the Brazilian tour announcement! So, here's all the info right here on Facebook...

We're pleased to report that Amy will be heading to Brazil for a one-off tour, early in 2011. Details of the shows are as follows:

8th January 2011 - Summer Soul Festival, Il Divino, Florianopolis
11th January 2011 - Arena HSBC, Rio de Janeiro
13th January 2011 - Summer Soul Festival, Covention Center, Recife
15th January 2011 - Summer Soul Festival, Chácara do Joquei, Sao Paulo

Tickets for all four shows are on sale on 22nd Nov from www.livepass.com.br

Amy will be joined at the three Summer Soul Festival shows by Mayer Hawthorne and Janelle Monae, with support at the Rio de Janeiro show also coming from Janelle Monae.

Just seen this on yahoo:
http://uk.news.yahoo...ck-c60bd6d.html

Janelle Monae will hit the road with Amy Winehouse in Brazil next year as the singer makes her official comeback.

The Rehab star is set to perform four live shows in South America, including three dates as part of the touring Summer Soul Festival between 8 January and 15 January - and quirky soul star Monae will join her.

The concerts will mark Winehouse's first full live shows since 2008, when she was forced to pull the plug on several high-profile gigs due to illness.

There's big rumours she's coming here too. If she doesn't I'm really going to Brazil. 2011 is the year

Yesterday's Mirror seemed to confirm the Brazil dates, too. I knew there'd be some happy faces in here :)

According to them, she starts touring in January.

2011 is the year

Totally! And 2012 even more.:) A Warm Rio Welcome, Cristo Redentor, Love, Peace, and more Grammys.;-)
Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

The 50 Best Albums of 2010

At long, long last, Janelle Monáe dropped her full-length debut on the world in 2010. It only seems fitting to look back on the moment two years prior when we first encountered her: “‘This is a historic night,’ the emcee shouts to the crowd. Waving blue and white inspirational signs, the assembly chants louder. The excitement is palpable. The diversity of the crowd—young and old, black and white, male and female—is itself a sign of the hope offered. When the shouts reach a fevered pitch, the guest of honor emerges. Welcome Janelle Monáe.
Sure, it’s only a club show, but—Barack Obama allusions aside—it does feel historic. You can’t help but feel you’re watching the birth of a superstar. ‘I’ve just watched Prince, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Judy Garland and AC/DC all at once,’ a friend exclaims as we leave the show.
When I first saw the 23-year-old singer, I told my wife that I’d just had a Jon Landau moment—I’d seen the future of rock ’n’ roll. Monáe—barely five-feet tall and backed only by a guitar player and drummer—delivered a performance unlike any I’d ever seen.”—Tim Regan-Porter

Wow, new gigs already? I'm not sure how I feel about that - nervous or excited.
And I go back to... I go back to us.

Bruised, battered and desparate for a fag she may be, but Amy is our 21st Century Piaf: flawed yet fabulous, tormented yet towering. Think of her this way and hope that the still remarkably young woman under the eyeliner thinks that way too. - Jude Rogers, The Word
