When The Sun first announced the Russian gig, my first thought was that Universal Music had a hand in it - a test performance to see if they need to cancel the Brazilian tour.

She herself is the reason she hasn't put out an album in years.well winehouse hasn't had an album for years (sadly :'-() so she can't be blamed! but i have to agree more touring less sitting on their arses. ---but i feel lady gaga just is a fame whore who cant stop herself; i think being an ass is her drug

Yeah, great, but God forbid artists should have to tour and please their fans who paid for their albums! Three Cheers for Lady Gaga for loving and respecting her Lil Monsters.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love for her to tour as well. It's not that I don't care but I'd rather see her comfortable with new material than to see her uncomfortable, trying to get her backup singers to help her sing the song, and performing the same music she's been performing for the past 4 years.
And Gaga is getting paid. It's showbiz and if she wants to keep herself relevant as a pop star, that's what she must do to stay in the game. keep her fans happy so that they care enough to buy anyhting with her name on it.
I'm not about to bitch about Amy not having an album out because when she was ready to sing about spaghetti, her label told her "NO" and keep trying to force her into making another Mark Ronson Presents: Back To Black 2. I don't know if she needs time or not but I'm not up for her being FORCED back into the spotlight when she's not ready.
Amy, are you happy?
She squints suspiciously at me.
"About what?"
About life.
"I'm happy about this salad."

^ Streisand didn't have a band whose members were friends with families & mouths to feed! Her "art" was song interpretation; Amy's is Music with a capital 'M'! If I thought she had any control over what she does, I'd think she was a bad person too.
.
Missing my point.
Anyway, Amy's work ethic needs polishing. I think we'll agree on that. She is a great artist, I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. She should be blowing people away in her live performances and she's not.

I love you Amy, but I wouldn't pay to see you perform right now.
Bruised, battered and desparate for a fag she may be, but Amy is our 21st Century Piaf: flawed yet fabulous, tormented yet towering. Think of her this way and hope that the still remarkably young woman under the eyeliner thinks that way too. - Jude Rogers, The Word

IMHO, none of us are kicking Winehouse when she's down, and many of us are ardent supporters. There's video proof of the performances, painful as they are. I'm tired of wincing and cringing, with my fingers crossed. This is 'reportedly' the 2nd time she's given a rather dodgy performance in Russia. I still believe that Winehouse should get help, smooth out the rough edges.

i meant why she isn't touring...she can't tour without a new material...
but she is def. the reason why a new album isn't out but also I think after suffering eating/depression/drug disorders, she needed to take the time off or she would have been dead; however i also think waiting around for blake and now committing to reg fucks her priorities up. she really needs to stop "stressin' a man" and drinking before shows. She seriously needs to change if she is going to make a comeback. that beginning of cupid is just painful

Sarah never said truer words. I know I keep comparing Winehouse to Whitney, but it's almost an uncanny, eerie coincidence. After Houston's disastrous comeback, she laid low for about a few months. According to the 'official' Whitney site, she's appearing at some gospel show and sounds better than ever.

whitney and amy both played around with crack and that drugs destroys so much in the body...its amazing that they even attempt at singing. I think Amy needs more time and actual vocal lessons again to overcome and learn how to control vocals destroyed by throwing up constantly and smoking drugs. I think she doesn't practice enough anymore. its sad to say but she needs more time I think like your suggesting

we'll settle for a proper tour of the first two albums, to hell with new material. ticketmaster hit gold when she scrapped her entire B2B tour here, to the tune of 25-30 bucks per ticket in nonrefundable fees. Wonder how Amy feels about that? Probably couldn't give a shit.

damnn... i forgot to tink about that; I don't understand why she hasn't tried to prove erself after all that nonsense during her marriage. if she flops this tour...there may never be a chance fo' a comeback gig. i really don't think she has the charms anymore to smile away her blunders...toooo many people seem fed up:'-(
