The term supergroup gets thrown around a lot, but in this case it really does apply. As Complex reports, songstresses Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Aloe Blacc have teamed up for a remix of Gene Krupa’s version of “Sing, Sing, Sing”. Originally written by Louis Prima in 1936, the track was recorded by Krupa and Benny Goodman and His Orchestra one year later. That version would later be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Winehouse, Adele, and Blacc’s version — billed under the moniker ‘Truth & Soul’ — will be one of six tracks included on L.A. Noire: Remixed. The EP, which also features remixes from DJ Premier and Dave Stiek’s Maximum Balloon, is being released on May 17th in conjunction with the video game L.A. Noire. So we should get a taste of this supergroup soon enough.
L.A. Noire: Remixed Tracklist
01. Elle Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan – “Stone Cold Dead in the Market” (Ticklah remix)
02. Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra – “Hey-Ba-Ba-Re-Bop” (Midnight Sun remix)
03. Dinah Washington – “A Slick Chick (On the Mellow Side)” (Maximum Balloon remix)
04. Louis Jordan – “Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens” (DJ Premier remix)
05. Gene Krupa – “Sing Sing Sing” (Truth & Soul Remix)
06. Billie Holiday – “That Ol’ Devil Called Love” (Moodymann remix)
