This is a small video tribute I made and wanted to share with you. I hope this doesn't come across as an act of self-promotion. All I did was overlay a studio recording of 'Love is a Losing Game' over the footage of her desperately sad attempt at a comeback in Belgrade, but the outcome was stark, haunting and strangely beautiful.

Rest with the angels Amy. You sang your heart out for us.

That part really got to me, she clearly just gave up right then and there. I wish I knew what pushed her or what happened to make her come crashing down. I wonder what she was on. I wish this never happened and that fame didn't kill her like it did. It's just not right, she was such a bright girl. Videos from her at 19 she was so fresh and so smiley. She gave up on life too fast and gave in. She was obviously in so much pain...so real.

Yeah, you're right about the giving up part. Whenever I watch this I find myself imagining that she's actually singing 'Life is a Losing Game' and the realization of that just truly dawned on her. I can barely bring myself to watch the raw footage of the Belgrade show - it's almost unwatchable - but for some reason I can watch it over and over with this achingly beautiful song over top. With that we get to experience the best and worst of Amy Winehouse at once, and it makes a world of difference to witness it minus the booing and tortured attempt at singing. Suddenly it's as if it's in slow-motion and the focus is all on her eyes as she alternates between sadness, bewilderment and pure resignation. I wish so badly that she hadn't given up.

She looks so beautiful but you can tell she's hurting and didn't want to be up there.

When you contrast that with how radiant and on-song she was at Shepherd's it's truly gut wrenching. What a sad sad loss.

I watched some of the videos from Belgrade and found myself clicking off them after a couple of minutes in. Its a bit awkward to watch seeing her stumbling around trying her hardest. At the end of the day she was doing it for her fans she was trying to please them, make a show for them, make them happy. But when you look into her eyes inside she looks so sad like she wants to just burst into tears. It must of been hard for her to try and do her show whilst being booed. At some points she keeps putting her hand up to the side of her face like shes trying to hide. Maybe she felt embaressed a little?. What was encouraging to see what her fans singing the words back to her trying to help her out. Tragically sad :( Your tribute is lovely the song is so perfect :).

I agree with you I don't think she ever got over Blake. It can't be easy singing the same songs every single time that mean so much to you. She had to go to that place every time she performed. Aside from being bored, it was gut wrenching for her. They should have just left her alone to write something else and stop shoving her on stand with the same material all those years. She needed time to recover and not be performing. That's how fame kills people, it's really sick. People are so money hungry. I feel so sorry for her, I really do. She was so lost and just needed something to help. Self medication was her destruction, but singing those songs never helped one bit. All the pressure must have been too much and once she failed she seemed to have given up completely. Should have just let her be until she was ready.
