I remember reading this article last month feeling it was spot on. I don't post it in the spirit of blame, just edification....



"Amy Winehouse canceled her European concert tour this week after taking the stage in Serbia so intoxicated she could barely stand up, much less sing.
Winehouse had checked into the Priory clinic last month for seven days to try to rein in her drinking. She reportedly was in such bad shape, she bought and drank a bottle of vodka on the drive to the rehab center.
Addiction experts tell Fox411 that given Winehouse’s history with drug and alcohol abuse, she needed a stay of three months or more in order to prepare for the rigors of a global tour. And they say she’s just the latest in a string of celebs who are rushed back onstage too soon, often after completing only a fraction of the rehab they need."

I hate to think about the what ifs because it doesn't bring her back but I was wondering
why she was touring.
Does the record company want her out touring before she releases a record so she would still be fresh in the public eye?
Will they not release a record unless artist can tour to support it?
Did she want to tour for the money?
Did the record company want her to tour for the money they lose over her album delays?
Can someone explain to me what they think the most likely reason is that she was touring.
Because in hindsight it seems awful that Amy would embark on a major tour when she is
not even able to complete a full treatment at priory
