Song of Faith

(in memory of Amy Winehouse)

In a lonely corner of the woods

I sit and grieve

For a soul that flew away

And went beyond,

I wonder why.

A bird on a branch up high

Startles with a song,

Rekindling a spark,

Retrieving the light of life

I lost in the dark.

And there she will remain,

Till the end of days,

Of pain and desire;

A vision only

For those who aspire.

© Jan-Peter Scheffer

Amy Winehouse died, and she's taken a part of my soul with her. May that part be the love that I felt for her, and may the love that I still feel for her be the undying part of us both.

Startles with a song,

Rekindling a spark,

Retrieving the light of life

I lost in the dark.
