Found this on whosampled.com - it's pretty cool to what her influences were ... I love how we see other music samples within her own songs.......I mean it's her own lyrics, her own music but takes bits and pieces from other places based on who she likes and what she's influenced by....love it..... Classic example is the Ain't no mountain high enough - tears dry on their own - one of my favourites!

Can't post links yet but here's examples:

Amy - Help yourself = Les Brown ft. Doris Day - you won't be satisfied until you break my heart

Amy - In my bed = Nas - Made you look

Amy - You sent me flying = Lafayette Afro rock band - hihache

Amy - He can only hold her = The Iceman - My girl

It's also interesting to see who has been influenced by Amy's music

B.o.B - Grip your body = Amy - Stronger than me

Vera - Lucienne = Amy - Help yourself.... (or obviously.. les brown/doris day)

Obviously other artists are influenced by Amy but these are actual musical influences...

Anyway I thought it would make for an interesting topic - I find it really interesting...
