For Amy ...
A light just went out
A soft, vulnerable and beautiful light.
One that too often flickered against darkening forces
But which still shone defiantly across its stage
And filled the lives of so many with hope and warmth and love.
So young and troubled was that light,
Its mere existence too regularly threatened within an angry world
Of menacing shadows creeping furtively from inside hidden corners.
Yet still it radiated in its pure magnificence
While tenderly kissing our ears with love and loss and despair.
And now, as I sit here on the fateful morning of that dreadful afternoon before,
I too feel those emotions at new and previously untold levels
As deep sorrow bites hard into my soul and crushes my stricken heart
And fuels endless tears of overwhelming sadness and hopeless regret.
For you, alas, are suddenly gone.
But wait a while, on this the first glorious dawning of your brand new journey
The sun clearly does shine with such a renewed and spectacular brilliance.
For heaven has today joyously welcomed a precious little angel into her soft cradling arms,
A sweet mother who will dutifully watch over and keep safe those who truly loved her.
Sleep now my beautiful girl,
Rest assured that permanently in our kind thoughts and forever in our grateful hearts,
Your memory will continue to shine for all eternity.
For our vision of you will always remain bright
And guide us back from the black and finally into the light.
For Amy

OMG, I honestly don't think I've cried this hard since she passed, and like everyone else, I've had my share of tears.
this is the most touching touching thing I've seen written on this beloved girl. totally heartfelt-just like her lyrics. She would have been proud of your incredible poetry. Please know that your poetry is from the heart, raw, and incredible-just like Amy's was.
I'm just awestruck. really.
