Best of it is, how she delivers them lines, in I heard love is blind, 'It was dark and i was lying down' 'I was thinking of you when i came', 'The only time i hold your hand is to get the angle right', last line initially baffled me, lol

I absolutely agree! When I first listened to I Heard Love is Blind I was literally thinking that only Amy could write those lyrics. I love the (no pun intended) frankness of her lyrics, for example when she sings "There's nothing new to learn," its totally like, 'screw the bullshit, there's only one reason I'm here with you,' and then again that same humour in 'don't be upset when they call you a sket'

She said at one point, she never wanted to write about love, she wanted to write loads of tongue in cheek tracks, like fuck me pumps, wish we'd got to hear more that side of things too, she was good at ska flavoured stuff too, loved to have heard her do a rock track. Fuck me pumps is a classic for her wit

Yeah Amy and Ska went so well together. That she danced like an old Jamaican man still cracks me up lol. In one interview she said how it wasn't her style to just take the piss out of someone, that she'd rather write something funny that'd make people laugh as well but still vent if she needed to and that's exactly what she did. Especially when you consider the age she would have been when she wrote Fuck Me Pumps; not many girls her age would've been able to see what she could so clearly and if they did they probably wouldn't have the guts to call it BS as she did. I know that from experience because I'm only 17 and I would say girls my age seem to be even worse than the girls Amy would've been speaking about and a lot of the girls who aren't don't want to step aside from that for fear of isolation.

I honestly am (still) amazed at her insightfulness and being a lyric genius at such a young age when u consider the ages she was when she wrote the songs for Frank.
*If you go to the 'amy in video' section of the threads, I posted about 4 interviews that were done right after Frank came out. they are about 5 min long each; 1 is 7 min long. It was an interview with the associated press and they are UNEDITED.
she really gets into the specifics of her music, her writing, what makes her write, just a really great interview session that gets to the backbone of what goes on in her mind when she writes a song and AFTER she writes them. you really should check them out. her earring even falls out during the interview. she is just so spontaneous and it is so unscripted. I love unedited anything.
I wish there were more interviews like this-that dissected her lyric genius.
'the girl done good' gives a good dissection from others' point of view too.

In My Bed - "oh, it's you again - listen, this isn't a reunion. So sorry if I turn my head."
Stronger Than Me - "i'm not gonna meet your mother anytime. I just wanna grip your body over mine. PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU THINK THAT'S A CRIME???"
You Know I'm No Good - "upstairs in bed w my ex boy; he's in a place but i can't get joy -- thinkin' of you in the final throes THIS IS WHEN MY BUZZER GOES!!"
Fuck Me Pumps - "don't be mad at me cus you're pushing thirty, and your old tricks no longer work :/"
Stronger Than Me - "you always want to talk it through - i'm OK. i always have to comfort you.. everyday. but that's what I need you to do, are you gay?"
