Mark Ronson played her some songs from his "Record Collection" (2010) and she didn't like it. That's all i know, it wasn't house music, but it was electro. :D

It's hard for me to guess what Amy would like. She often referred to her B2B stuff as "jukebox". House music is mid to uptempo dance music that resembles 70s disco. It started in Chicago in early 80s and has a steady "four on the floor" beat. I'm thinking Amy would have considered it "boring".

ty, Nigel.

nope, I agree, don't think she'd care much to listen to it.

I honestly think she would get more out of country music....some of those lyrics can be pretty heart-breaking. maybe not so much the tune but the lyrics, at least.

i'm not sure she would have liked house, probably might have liked garage though. i'm going off the fact that we're the same age & both from north london, most people our age were listening to garage in the late 90s & early 00s.

I would agree she probably wouldn't like it because of the repetition and drum machines etc but there are some good vocals on house tracks. She referred herself to "a little old man who liked old music!" so that says a lot. But privately, she probably maybe liked more than she let on in public.

Some of her music is pop but the song Back to Black sounds very serious - bit like film music not for the light hearted - could be music to be depressed to? Strong stuff.
