I guess I'm the only one who still thinks that's not what it means Always thought it was just a metaphor for the havoc he caused in their lives when they met. The literal explanation doesn't make much sense to me in the context of the entire song tbh.

Well you see that's always what I took it to mean; that he kind of burnt everything up.
When it was mentioned here, I thought I had been too naive and obtuse about the real meaning.

But maybe not afterall ....
