Shame he can't do it as he knew her and could show the true Amy. Hope they don't do it all 'Hollywood' Not sure I am going to be able to watch it however it is done anyway.
I love you in a place where there's no space or time...Forever you will be a true friend of mine:)

Hoolywood shdnt be able to do it n make it a fucked up thing, a docu typr thing wid interviews n live clips, unseen/backstage, behind tha scenes, out takes n so on, n Reg, Salaam, ronson, Juliette, jools holland, ppl like dat talkin bout her music n wonderful girl she is would be suitable, not some lame ass sensationalism bollox wid sum 2bit nob who doesn't look like Amy tryna act like her/be her would be a fackin insult. Reg in time could be behind a docu based one. x

Spot on Berny, in my humble opinion films like this rarely work, a documentary type film would be much more suitable to tell the true story, the Tupac Ressurection film being a pretty good example of how best to do a film, they couldn't possible have got someone to play the part of Pac so they did the right thing, they let Pac play the part, even though the film wasn't perfect, in my eyes it worked

Just hope Amy's family and friends are consulted before any type of film is considered and that they have the final say on the matter.

I know that no one could play the part of Amy, only Amy herself.
and with all respect to however much they look like her or how good of an actress, big name or whatever I would like to see the film(if one is made) telling her life story to be nominated for any possible awards, not some actress who played the part of her.
Just my personal opinion by the way, before I get flamed!

In my opinion some movies made from a celebrity rarely work! Have u guys seen the Movie called Selena? That movie was a success. Jennifer Lopez played Selana part and she did pretty good!

But in Amys case I think a Documentary with interviews with her closest friends and her family should be in the works and be released in a few years from now

Ditto Paul, I'm sorry, but no one could 'Do/be' Amy, theres only one Amy, no one looks like her, has her mannerisms, ways, quirks, u can't bottle it n spaay someone wid it n tada instant Amy, some ppl anyone could play, Amys special, unique, so, docu is besy road to take wid Reg behind it. x

.

I am not clear as to why so MANY fans think there will only be ONE "Amy Movie."
That is simply not likely the case.

If Stefani Germanotta wants the part in the first theatrical release, she will likely get the nod. Both Lea Michele and Dana DeLorenzo will likely appear in subsequent bio-pics.

The Brit stable is FULL of terrific choices, too. There is NO doubt that either a joint-venture twixt BBC/PBS will be formed OR the BBC will do it on its own.

Stage plays and "musical revues" are being penned on virtually EVERY continent.

And, of course, there will be documentary projects.

The financial value of the "Amy Franchise" will be enormous in the out-decades. AJW's family and the Amy Winehouse Foundation will be prime beneficiaries of that franchise.

In order to maximize the life/value of the franchise, it is critically important that the FIRST bio-pic be both a critical and commercial success. The best way to assure that result is to do the FIRST flick with the hottest boxoffice draw on the planet; since U2 is not right for the role, Stefani is the best choice.

Secure the franchise and the "art projects" will follow in droves. Going non-commercial out of the gate will KILL the franchise.

Folks who want to Preserve The Legend and Build The Philanthropic Legacy will well serve their own interests, if they get on board and come on in for the BIG WINS that are on the horizon.

I swear I won't watch it. I got to know the real Amy, I don't need a cheap copy.
By the way, I think is absolutely tasteless to speak about a biopic when her body is barely cold (I'm not talking about Reg, I mean the producers. These people are heartless).
What I'd really love to see is a documentary in the style of This Is It (I absolutely loved it). Something made by those who worked or were close to her featuring unseen footage from rehersals, recording sessions, interviews and tributes by her fans.
I’m a firm believer that we all meet up in eternity

If Reg did the video, there were more unseen details about Amy's life... I'd love to know some more about her (even more than I already know, but I'm just a fan, so...)

I wouldn't be surprised if some travesty of an American TV movie comes out before long. But longterm, if we have to see a bio-pic I hope that a proper, gritty British film could be made, with input from family and friends - like Control, the brilliant movie about Joy Division's Ian Curtis, based on his wife's memoirs. I think we all need a few years to reflect on Amy's impact first, and I fully understand that Reg couldn't face it though maybe he could be an advisor.
