i dont know what to think anymore.
i think we all want to believe that theres something we cant really figure out in the whole "addiction" situation, cause for us Amy isnt just another addict, she is Amy fu**ing winehouse, so theres have to be something big.

but as time goes by, i slowly understand that she was just like any other addict, and even worst, since she lived her addiction in fron of us.
i dont know if she thought about Blake, his child, or how come the economy in Greece sucks, she was in this shit too deep, and for us is hard to realize cause we only want to see the full glass.

im just saying, she was an addict, but arent we all?

Belgrade is probably the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I cried so much.

In the event that Amy wanted to go on stage, musicians have had to refuse to play while she was in this state. In the event that Amy had asked not to go, it's disgusting. You have to be a big heartless to force someone so vulnerable to so publicly humiliate themselves, so cruelly.

Unfortunately, Amy doesn’t realize an immediate impact. It's really sad and I am appalled that people who claimed to be fans have booed so stupidly. Clearly, this young woman so loving lacked the tools and the necessary preparation for the celebrity.

While I believe that no human being can, anyway, be prepared without going crazy. Did you know that someone considered a public character legally loses his right of discretion? If I was fallow by people who were taking pictures of me, I could complain. The stars have no right to complain because it's the lifestyle they have chosen.

WTF!!??

If it depended on me alone, this industry would completely change. What does it take more? Lindsay Lohan in jail, Britney Spears totally crazy, Fergie smokes drugs, Whitney died, Queen Elizabeth dies in an accident, followed by the paparazzi ... and now, Amy dies too!

And why the tabloids are bent? To make a little money in the evenings as Belgrade.

These poor victims are leaving one after one and I’m convinced that despite their problems, the Medias and paparazzi are partly responsible for the misfortune of these superstars.

Now they are attacking Adel, and I pray that this time-they have the intelligence not to repeat the tragedy Winehouse. Even if I wish, I doubt that one day these morons let the artists flourish. :(

I hate how the paparazzi treated her, here's part of a not yet finished poem I have been writing...

Those rats always out front lurking
Awaiting their tidbit scraps
They turned your safe haven into your cell
That vile ink on paper they wrote so well
Hardly gave you the chance you so deserved
Rarely spoke of the enormous gifts you so truly had
Odd they finally found the encouraging compassionate words
When your door finally closed in their faces for good
Amy, if you are up there listening, thank you for sharing the incredible soundtracks of your life ...
Does anyone think that maybe the fact that Blake's baby was born 2 weeks before Belgrade had anything to do w/ the state she was in? Just a thought. Even if she was over him, it would still be hard to know that your ex husband just had a child w/ another woman.

What are your thoughts?
Hi, I've been reading this forum for a while now, but have never written on here...

I completely agree with you, when I first saw the video of this concert, I wasn't aware of Blake having a baby with another woman, but it appeared clear to me that this was a woman suffering deep pain (while also being drunk). She is clearly crying and reliving the pain of the breakup.
It's painful to see that all those years after she wrote those songs, her lyrics still ring true, even if the girl Amy sings about in Back to Black ("you go back to her") is a different one, she is perpetually losing Blake.

It is weird that her management and band just went ahead with it, but I guess they had a contract to fill, and it certainly wasn't the first time AMy played a concert drunk, maybe everyone thought she could pull it off. It seems even Amy thinks she can pull it off at some stages, like she is unaware how much of a wreck she is. I know it's happened to me before, when you're very drunk and slurring+swaying, but convinced other people wont notice...that's what alwoholics do, they spend every day trying to conceal the truth from everyone, and are often very good at it.

Anyway...I think having to deal with Blake being a father, when she wlaways wanted to have children with him, and a come-back concert, was just too much to handle.

shes clearly on drugs, im sorry but unfourtanetly in my line of work, you can smell an addict from a distance, does someone have a closeup of her face from that show?
I'm sorry, she's not on drugs, she's drunk. I agree with you, she's an addict, but at this stage in her life, her addiction was to alcohol, not drugs. Why is it so hard to consider alcoholics as addicts? Alcoholism is just as dangerous and fatal as drugs, and in the end it's what took Amy's life. She survived the drugs, to our surprise, when she was deep in the grips of crack and heroin addiction... Alcohol is often perceived as a lesser evil, because it's less taboo, yet it messes up people's lives just as much even if it's legal!

Yes Belgrade was terrible..Can belive this..How the manager let her go on the scene..and she was completly drunk..
When I saw again the concert..Amy looks sad..she didn't care (espacially in the end of Valerie song)..
And after, when she was in scene with Dionne, she was looking ok,or pretending to look ok?How do you explain this?

Amy just looked so sad and there were certain lines in her songs that she would scream and then thrown the mic on the floor. I was hoping someone, her father or herself, would come out and explain what happened. But, sadly they didn't; we will never know. I still have hopes that her father's book, coming out this summer, will shed some light on her state in her last few months. I really don't think she looked very happy; she always looked very somber.

She was high. As an ex-user myself and someone who has worked around addicts, I would bet my house that she was using more than alcohol that night. Prescription drugs to help with the drinking maybe, but drugs nonetheless.

Tragic. I still can't watch the clips from Belgrade. I tel you what, though - I'd LOVE to know who was charged with watching her that day because they clearly failed.

---------- Post added at 02:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:52 PM ----------

As for the media.... don't even get me started. Right now it's open season on Bobby Brown - right up until she died, literally days before, it was open season on Whitney. Their faux respect disgusts me to my core. And already the scumbags are crawling out of the woodwork to sell their stories. The depths some people will sink to for a few quid and a few column inches just sickens me.

Nevermind that Bobby might be grieving, too - he's a sitting duck. The poor man has to support his child now through the worst time of her life and is undoubtedly worried sick for her.

Just like Blake, and Nancy Spungen before him, they love to blame someone. They love to bring them down and watch the public verbally kick the shit out of them in their weakest moments. All three of them were/are also addicts, and therefore also victims. Blame doesn't help anyone - just makes tensions rise and resentments fester.

Seems to me the press are never happier than when they're encouraging mass hatred against an individual with their bias and spin. It's a game to them. A sport. 'Who can we knock down this week for shits and giggles?'

I trained as a journalist but I packed it in because I could not bear to align myself with such parasites. I freelance for voluntary publications. I value my integrity far more than any filthy money I could ever have made.

Still can't get let go of my anger over whoever forced her onstage in that condition instead of rushing her to a hospital for treatment.

Inexcusable. Unforgiveable.

Were I her family, I would demand an explanantion. Instead, I believe Mitch defended the management when some people criticized their decision to let the show go on.

Defend your daughter, man!

Maybe you'll hate me but I don’t rule out suicide. I love Amy and I know it's hard to admit that a person can do it but three bottlesof vodka? Even the greatest of alcoholic knows that it’s enough to kill. In addition, Amy was smart.

But, I can’t be certain. I don’t think that Amy wanted to die but she wanted to get rid of his loneliness. I think at this point, live or die doesn’t bother her anymore.

She has spent the past few days talking to friends (some she had not seen in years) on her Facebook, she saw her mother the day before, asked anencounter with Blake in prison, was certain to join the club of 27. I can not help but find it's a lot of coincidences.

Everyone said she was healthy before his death. Being healthy doesn’t necessarily mean being happy. It is hard to miss the sadness in her eyes even in 2011. I thinks he had just had enough and I understand. Maybe she drank without actually intend to die but I think she was aware of the danger (to drink three bottles) but she thought that if she was to die, then she would die, that’s it.

Still, I like to think that her death was really an accident. I hope for her. Because if she chose to die, it would mean that her distress could not be saved. And it breaks my heart!

Defend your daughter, man!

You're right. I don’t know if you read Saving Amy, but in this book she clearly explains that her parents are bad. She finds her parents think more of her fortune than her feelings. She once wrote on her Twitter that she was hurt when they spoke ill of Blake but they continue.

I think his parents loved her but they wasso in denial, they did not see all the evil they did to her. Mitch also said that Raye would take careof Amy at Jazz festival in St Lucia, knowing her daughter was drinking too much. We remember the outcome ...

Mitch would prevent Amy from going onstage in Belgrade.Especially because she clearly did notwant to be there. Money is not everything in the world, Amy knew it. Unfortunately, she was surrounded by people who thought the opposite.

I don't know what Fb it's a friend of her who said it in an interview. I don't think that Amy has committed suicide but if that were the case, I would not be surprised either. I hope not.

And her parents, I don't blame them. Amy made her own choice and nobody could save her without her consent. But with their attitude, sometimes things got worse.

Blake criticism, let er go on stage as in Belgrade ...

Anyway I can't know and nobody can. What is important now is that she rest in peace. I miss her a lot.

what do you mean she was high? as we all know (from Mitch) that she has been cleaned for almost 3 years, so do you think she relapsed? i mean it's inevitable, but i'd like to know what trigger her to did drugs again? was it blake's baby or simply she wanted to escape from her loneliness?
there are so many questions that we might never find the answers :( and honestly i don't think mitch's book will reveal the truth.
i wonder how he and the rest of family felt after the concert. especially when mitch tweeted "don't worry amy's fine" and the she died weeks after.
You're wondering now, what to do.. Now you know this is the end.
You're wondering how, you will pay for the way you misbehaved.

Amy was a grown-up, legally, even tho sometimes she acted like a kid. Hell, we all do it from time to time, but we are more responsible of our actions, right? You can't blame the parents for her death, indeed, but Mitch should have at least shut up, not encourage the same media that fucked up with Amy everytime they had the chance. Her dad works on fame, there are much more pro-s than con-s about this. Look at her mom, how many times did she come to say anything? I'm sure Mitch wanted to help, in his own way, but imo he did much more worse.

Over Belgrade, I agree more and more with Sassy , they should have let her start again with small avenues, not arenas.
