Would you rather that one or original one? I'd rather original one coz you know, lyrics are not really much without rap verses.

I don't especially like or even understand rap.

But I firmly believe 'Like Smoke' had the potential to be one of her best-ever songs while showing she was still right up there as one of the greatest of songwriters.

Had she actually recorded the full lyrics then who knows. I still think what was actually produced was stunning and memorable.

i think its amazing how she only repeat the same 4-5 lines, and everytime it sounds different! this could have been one of the best..
you should have catched it while it was close,
you should have touched it when it was yours,
you should have trust it cause it was worth,
you should have saved it, now its lost.

I love this song... I am really not at all into rap (I had 'Like Smoke' on in my house the other day and my friend was really confused as he knows rap is just not me) but I do like the Nas version. Not sure why but I do and Amy's voice just blends so well with his rapping. I agree that her verse sounds so complex and different each time and it has the potential to be something spectacular but I do like it with Nas too!
I love you in a place where there's no space or time...Forever you will be a true friend of mine:)

I love rap and really like Nas but it seems this collaboration didn't work for me. Actually, i sometimes fastforward Nas's verses, so this new mix is really welcome.

I also think this could have been one of her best songs if it was finished. Her voice is brilliant , the lyrics so Amy-like. The style of back to black.
I dont'care much for the Nas song, but I've got used to it, much prefer your mix though!

I find this easier to listen to than the version with Nas!

I didn't know there was a version without Nas. It's great because I always skip his part when I listen to this song. It's not my favorite Amy's song at all but still is really good.

I prefer this version, too, to be honest. Don't really rate Nas' lyrics on the album version.

Me too. It's not that Nas is bad or anything, I just prefer her voice and lyrics more. I would have liked to see what the two of them would have done on their own terms.

I like Nas. I just didn't like him in this song for some reason.

R.I.P Amy Jade Winehouse. Once in a lifetime voice.
