"Studio musicians aren't breathing together the way we are." I doubt that's the real reason for their high demand...it was the astronomical success of B2B which got people interested in them, and who wouldn't want to make that kind of money.
The dude in the white t put me off. He was surprised by how big B2B was? He wouldn't have signed her, and wouldn't have put that record out. Guess it's easy to make those kind of statements when you're sitting on that pot of Gold Amy made for you....

An asshole judging by his way of thinking and the way he acts, really. Jealous that he didn't get enough credit?

I still love this band and their label! Despite their feelings on Amy.
They are a great band. It's just funny that they wish to distance themselves from Amy, her success, etc. like they feel tainted for being mentioned in the same sentence as her, because she was too mainstream.

Apart from Valerie, Amy never did any recording with the DapKings i.e. in the same room at the same time, although I think they toured with her a bit at the beginning of '07 like at Coachella.
Typical artists though, playing down the mainstream connections and trying to be contrary. Gotta love them for it though.

I've seen some of their stuff with Sharon Jones, it's good. I don't think the fact they collaborated with Amy and were part of a HUGE mainstream album takes any credibility away from their talent...

that's true. I do find it odd how, while they've distanced themselves from the commercial success of Back To Black, they've gone on to work with other (far less talented) artists in the mainstream like Michael Buble. Sharon Jones even performed with him on SNL . . .
no offense to anyone who likes Michael Buble.
