Amy Winehouse Made Me Tea (newstalk.fm Article and Podcast)
Jul 26th, 2011
Amy Winehouse took pity on Rolling Stone writer Clare Hoffman when she saw her camped outside her home in 2008.
Hoffman told Orla Barry on Monday’s Green Room that she had been sent on assignment to interview Winehouse although no interview had been arranged.
Seeing the writer camped outside her home Winehouse took her in, made her tea and spent the night talking about love.
“She was pretty messed up when I talked to her…she played hostess for the night although she was in some kind of altered state. She hadn’t slept for 3 days”
All she wanted to talk about was Blake Fielder-Civil …who was in prison at the time
It’s been reported that Blake has been banned from attending Amy’s funeral by her father Mitch.
“We also talked about rockstars and dying young and I think there was a consciousness on her part that that would be her fate” Hoffman said.
The media player on their page didn't go directly to the interview, so here's a link to the actual mp3 file of the podcast ...
