Because they have to put their own spin on it. I guess anything to keep amy's music alive, right? I just hope dummies won't think it's beyonce's song... it's quite an improvement from bow down bitches grosss
Bow Down was awful but 4 had some really good songs, especially the retroish ones (Schoolin' Life, Love On Top, Party) so I think she can pull it off in that respect. Although with much less commercial success so who knows if she'll go down that route again. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not a fan of covers.
He still stands in spite of what his Mars bar says.

mitch winehouse @mitchwinehouse2h
Let me repeat. This is the first I have heard of Beyonce doing Amys song.

I don't know this but what if Beyonce gave £100,000 to foundation. Do you know how many kids that would help? Just putting it out there.

First I have heard about Beyonce and Back to Black. Sounds like some of you don't like the idea.

"Amy is amazing. It's as if Bille Holiday and Dianh Washington had a baby and it was raised by Janice Joplin." - jazzblowin on youtube

I can't imagine what kind of travesty this is going to turn out to be. I mean, Beyonce sings the same radio-friendly, bubble-gun machine pop junk. Amy's self-written material tells of her own, private pain and suffering. I can't imagine Beyonce/Andre 3000 doing anything more than turning this haunting torch song into another dance floor piece of fluff.
This is precisely what I'm afraid of. Perfectly stated.
Also, IMO, just about no amount of cash, to the foundation or otherwise, is acceptable in return for what I'm afraid Beyonce and her 238437 writers/producers are going to do with this song.
