[Dialect]

I just found this on youtube. Can anyone here confirm if this is a real studio version or not? At times I wasn't sure if this was Amy or not :/ or if it was just an edited live version.

Wow, this has thrown me. It doesn't sound like someone's just used EQ to isolate a live vocal but then the instrumental sounds quite cheap for a studio version unless it's just a demo; it sounds almost like a karaoke track. I don't really know what to think, I'd just be shocked that anyone at the label or any of her producers would let a demo leak where she's obviously not in good voice at all.

If this is legit, I'd honestly hope no more tracks from this period surface because her voice/confidence obviously wasn't in a good way (although we knew that from Body & Soul and the Brazil gigs).

EDIT: I did wonder if this was a tribute act's cover because like you said, at times it doesn't sound exactly like 2011 Amy and the tone sounds off. I'm still inclined to think this may be real.

It sounds like Amy to me. I think someone took her vocals from a live version and then added a cheap arrangement. It doesn't sound like a studio version at all, not even like a demo.
I'd kill for a studio version, though.

This REALLY sounds like her though? There's some parts that don't at all, but her voice does not sound like it's in good condition here anyway. I've never heard a tribute act with a voice so similar to hers. It really doesn't sound like it's taken from a live recording either - her live performances of this are much better.

i think the vocals sound taken from a live version and to know that she sang it in 2011, her damage voice could justifies the reason why she sounds like that. of course the music is taken from the original version but to put those tracks together make that effect on the sound. if any of this makes sense?

I checked and it seems none of the live vocals from her early 2011 dates where she sang it match this. I guess someone could try asking the guy who uploaded it but otherwise I don't know.

I couldn't find any vocals that matched it either, that's why I decided to post it on here for other people to hear.

I was thinking, it could have just been her messing around recording a song she likes. I'm sure she must have done a few like that considering she had a recording studio in her house!

I have no idea. I just highly doubt that it's a tribute act. I'll message the guy now

It's not even her accent. Bad imitation... well if I'm wrong, shit... I don't feel anything when I listen to it, while the couple live versions we have of it are lovely.
