Just one question? So If there are so many unreleased songs listed here? why is Mitch (her farther) insisting there are NO MORE NEW SONGS to be released. There will be NO more songs put out from Amy.

About a half of a year ago he told that he was so surprised as he had just heard one of her unreleased songs. I don't remember which song it was, but it was really well-known. :) So, why not no suppose that he just doesn't know too much about her unreleased songs at all?

Mitch and the people at Amy's label know exactly what they have, a professional fact. Anyway, we all know they have stuff yet to release, have we all forgotten about the twelve songs they have locked away in the vaults? you know, the ones they will never put out.

i really feel curious about some of these titles, orange peel, dolly's diner, counting chicken, but also about some of the tiles noted on the lioness lp, misery loves Company, our souls ain't sole, etc.

i don't know ostrogenous, but somewhere i read, that she recorded it for her demo tape. according to the article, it has been described by someone from Island/Universal as 6 minutes long, with good vocals but bad guitar playing. Don't know, if it's true, or somebody has just been making up something. Maybe, we'll never know.

i don't know, if any of the songs, which are neither listed at BMI nor on the lioness lp, really exist, but jewel could be the same song as past the jewel, (just an assumption, maybe these are 2 different songs). i'm a Monkey, Not A Boy sounds kinda weird, doesn't seem real to me.

I got Close To The Front on vinyl! It is on the 10 inch Take The Box promo! And i don`t know if this is old News or just something made up. but i remember to have read a article that said that the 3rd album was going to be called "You Know Me And Amy Are Straight Playas". i think it would be quite strange because her other albums had short names.

Even stranger, those are kinda the lyrics of Nas' rap in Like Smoke...which he probably did after she passed.

I imagine that either they want to keep some things to themselves or wait for the most opportune time to release them.  I feel like I would love to hear more of her or have something that she once owned, but then I think maybe her family wants to keep those things to themselves to have something special and private.  I just wish we still had her with us!

I think there are some recordings out there of course, some songs that never made the cut on Frank (I think most of them made it onto B2B), some that are just rough recordings of her singing away to herself like the A Song For You on Hidden Treasures.

The thing is, I don't think it's so much a case of her family wanting to keep it for themselves, but also wanting to respect Amy. They know that Amy was very strict about how her songs should sound, and they relaeased Hidden Treasure in haste. The only person to judge whether or not they would want to share it with the world is Amy. Her  songs are so personal it would be like releasing pages of her diary. And if her singing isn't up to scratch, or the arrangements were naff, she would be real pissed off.

I feel like the unreleased songs we have are not THAT personal, i may be very wrong. But Trilby And Jazz N Blues are about clothes and shopping, Alcoholic Logic is about a boy and that she Writes the song on the Train. Procastination is just about her beeing busy and procastinating stuff, and Long Day is about her beeing tired and when my eyes has A LOT of lyrics, but she sings about roller skating waitress. So maybe they just have not let the very personal songs leak yet? Please correct me if i`m wrong, i just wanted to get it out there.

I think that's just a reflection of her writing skills at that early phase. She hadn't quite cracked it and was obviously struggling to find subjects to write about with her guts. I don't think those songs sounds impersonal, rather a little juvenile.

When she got her heart broken, she certainly had more experience to tap into for inspiration. :-)

This is just random, but I was listening to it today and you know what would have been amazing for Amy to cover? 'No, No, No' by Dawn Penn. The whole feel is right up her alley and she had the perfect voice for it! Reminds me a bit of Cupid. Such a good reggae song!

I heard that there is live versions of "Help Yourself" and "Fool`s Gold". Wonder where they are. And also the YouTube user "1954771" has now been shut down, since he have postet tons and tons of copyrighted videos of Amy. He had a lot of useful info...
