Does anyone know what she means in this song? Why did she write a song about her brother? What did you get from the lyrics? I've always liked this song but always wondered what it meant. I just know she mentions her mother in it as well

It's a song for her brother basically telling him that he's at an age where he needs to take responsibility, grow up and look out for his mum, and to stop treating "life like it's a run through" (ie. a practise). I'd guess Amy wrote it when she was moving out to tell her brother to watch out for Janis considering her condition.

Thanks. So it was kind of like a 'grow up' song haha I wondered because I heard he was depressed so I thought maybe it had to do with that
