Not one of her written songs, but the version of "Will you still love me tomorrow?" is one I play a lot. The version off of the "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" soundtrack, Not the one off of "Lioness."

She says something like: "know what? Donny Hathaway, know what? I think Donny Hathaway is like my Carleen Anderson. Like um, Marvin Gaye, like great, but Donny Hathaway like, he couldn't contain himself, he had something in him you know?" She really liked Donny Hathaway!

Wake Up Alone. The music is amazing (the chord progression in itself is genius). The lyrics are poetry, especially the chorus and the way she works in so many subtle references to liquid/water.
I drip for him tonight
Drowning in me we bathe under blue light
He floods me with dread
Soaked in soul
He swims in my eyes by the bed
Pour myself over him
Moon spilling in
They seem so overt when you look at it on paper, but it doesn't feel that way when listening, still it conveys brilliantly a sense of total immersion in this person that's invading her dreams.
But the thing that really overwhelms me is the way this all comes together with the "Amy chorus of angels" in the backup vocals during the chorus. Something about the harmonies combined with the delivery and the textures of her overdubbed voices in the background take me away from this planet. I just feel like I couldn't possibly be on Earth and hearing this, like I must be in heaven, or ...dreaming? This is why, to me, this song and her performance is the definition of a masterpiece. Every element comes together and creates magic. It's fucking magic to me...that song.

I love he can only hold her its so underrated
True! I've listened to it countless times (I was trying to figure out whether I prefer it played by the Dap-Kings or by her regular band ) and I keep being amazed by how beautiful it is!
