I really love this song, but can someone please tell me why some of the parts of her voice sound extremely distant? Like shes singing from far off and you can hardly hear what shes saying.

I really love this song, but can someone please tell me why some of the parts of her voice sound extremely distant? Like shes singing from far off and you can hardly hear what shes saying.
The recording was taken from Amy singing and playing guitar in her house while Salaam was setting up recording equipment when he came to visit her (can't remember off the top of my head whether it was 08 or 09, Salaam talks about it in an interview) so it wasn't recorded particularly optimally or scientifically, it was spontaneous and unprepared. She started crying mid song too apparently, and I don't think she was in a good place at the time so she wasn't vocally at her best.

I never knew this. Wow. Easily my favourite song from Lioness, and that story makes it even nicer. Such an emotional cover of a great song.
