"I met Amy Winehouse at the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela in London (which would sadly be the last time I'd see Mandela in person). A guy named Mitch came up to me & asked if I'd mind having a few words with his daughter. She came over, got on her knees, kissed my hand & told me that she knew all the records I did with Dinah Washington in the 1950s all the way to "Queen & Quincy." It was simultaneously such an honor & also so incredibly sad that her last two records were her & Tony Bennett on "Body and Soul" & a cover of Lesley Gore's "It's My Party" on a tribute record to me with a special rap by HER! Amy, don't worry, I'll never forget that..."Sistahs come before carpet burns and blisters!" I love you Amy & I'll always hold you in my heart & deep in my soul."
