When I first heard the song I liked it. But back then I didn't know anything about Amy's inner demons. And she appeared so confident that I bought it from her at the time. What I liked was her snotty way of saying that she thought she could do it on her own. Now we all know that a huge opportunity to help Amy was missed back then. Would anyone today like a song in which Pete D. injects himself with heroin and sings this song?
I also like the original better (for many songs).
Unfortunately, it was really her song that led to her breakthrough. But there were so many better songs on their BtB album. Rehab is catchy but a simple song. Not a hit in my opinion like Back to Black, You’re know I’m no good, Love is a losing game, Some unholy war…
And what was later made of the song in the press and the shouting at the big festivals where she had to sing the song (even though she was already addicted to alcohol by then).

It's unfortunate it was the breakthrough for the most part, but I can't help but think it was a testament to who is. Not the addiction part, but her genuineness in personal songwriting. And just 'tortured soul' reality

I tend to skip it when I listen to the album.
